It's good to get perspectives on war from different nationalities. I had already seen the excellent War about the Second Chechen War. This film shows raw Siberian recruits being toughened up before being sent to Afghanistan. The flm is harsh enough but there's enough charm on show to keep you identified with the young soldiers.
