Really good movie!

This is a great movie about a rather disturbing topic. The casting of the characters was really great and setting of the dark world of the underground makes an impact and the psychology behind why people do things they do.

Nicholas Cage plays a private detective by a wealthy family to determine the realness of an 8mm film found after the passing of the wealthy husband. He pursues leads to prove the film is not real for the wife and the trails lead to him to unsavory places and despicable people. 8mm's of Cage and Gandolfini

Nicolas Cage was born and raised to play this character! He is absolutely fascinating as a professional investigator who is willing to do what it takes. He is very believable and really draws you into his world of undercover work. And when it gets too wild for words, he shows a revulsion and a hesitation in dealing with the subject matter (multiple sexual perversions), but always gets right back on track til he reaches the point he's seeking. At the end, he discovers James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) playing a murderous pornographer in league with another one, played by Peter Stormare (the blonde killer from 'Fargo') and Cage takes them both on, to avenge the death of a young girl. Cage always gets his man, and 8MM is no exception. He's definitely not playing around like he was in 'Raising Arizona', he is 100% business. And this film almost certainly was the springboard that put Gandolfini into his role of Tony Soprano; he is absolutely superb! This flick has enough twists and turns that it deserves a place in the collection of every action/suspense fan on the planet!!! Love and death 8MM movie

8MM IS one of those movies that is not for children. For adults and older children late teens + 8MM would be a good fit. Those who have a weak stomach also stay away from this movie. The violence nudity and vulgarity is not tamed. Those who are not opposed to the above would find 8MM a well thought through movie. This movie entertains the gamier side of sex. While I will not ruin this well thought through movie I will not give the answers what exactly is happening. That stated I gave this movie five stars for reasons.Lire l'avis complet...

8MM: Eight Millimeter

Tom Welles, private eye, is hired by a wealthy widow, whose well-known husband passed away recently. She has found a reel of S8-film in a safe. On the film is a cruel slaughtering of a young girl, who obviously does not pretend or act: A snuff-movie. Welles takes up investigation, which leads him to the girl's mother and from there to Hollywood, into the office of a porn flick producer. Welles' rising obsession to solve the case also carries him away from his wife and new-born daughter. But when finally names are at hand, Welles suddenly finds himself on ice much thinner than he planned. The last 20 minutes of the movie are heart pounding and breathtaking. Director Joel Schumacher delivers one of the most mind haunting dramas you will ever see and gives us a story that won't be easy to forget. It's dark, moody, creepy, brilliant, and disturbing. I love this movie it is a classic very good action and suspension and nick cage is always a beast

Great movie

Nicolas Cage provides an excellent acting in this movie about snuff movies. Very entertaining thrilling and suspenseful. I would recommend this movie for anybody’s collection.

TWISTED, BUY IT!

Of all things I expected this movie to be about, it is about a snuff film. Nicolous Cage is a Private investigator and is paid to find out if the film is real. He makes a friend, some enemies, endangers his family, commits murder and walks away a shell of the person he was. This movie is as thrilling as it is creepy and disgusting. But deffinantly one I of my top 20 favorites!

Not something to be watch around children as it has strong sexual content.

Fortunately or Unfortunately, could be based on fact! That's what I prefer instead of some fantasy you know is made up in someone's head.
