Steve McQueen: Entertaining Classic Movies of a Great American Actor..

Great collection of four films from this Hollywood icon. Papillon is a classic story taking place in French Guinea at a prison facility. McQueen endures as one of the prisoners that has to deal with the harshness from living under the cruel French penal system. Dustin Hoffman costars with McQueen and has to dubious honors of being the "brains" of the two and having the internal connections to help McQueen attempt his escape.
The Cincinnati Kid was another classic McQueen movie, but not the type of movie where there is suspense and moving action. A gambler (McQueen), tries to move up in notoriety; and to do this, has to defeat (E. Robinson) in an all-out gambling match. A good story line, but not the action I like to see Steve McQueen star in.
The Getaway is back to classic McQueen. His costar Ali McGraw is beautiful in her supporting roll of McQueen to rob a bank. Upon getting out of prison, McQueen and McGraw quickly realize that robbing the bank was easy, the Getaway is much harder. The show is classic action with an exciting effort of trying to flee the clutches of the gang McQeen and McGraw are working for. Suspenseful, action, stressful situations, and intrigue make this a wonderful movie and one of Steve McQueen's best performances.
Bullet is another classic movie of Steve McQueen's career. A tough cop just gets caught up looking bad by the mob. A struggle for survival against the police and mob, he finds himself trying to come out on top. Action packed, suspenseful, and dramatic classic look at the Steve McQueen we all adored all those years ago in cinema. Not a bad move in the bunch.

If you like old movies despite some of the cinematic limitations of the times, and if you like Mqueen then this is a must have bunch of movies. The Cincinnati kid is one that is harder to find and also you don't see on any Netflix as often. Its a great New Orleans movie with a great ending. Can not recommend this enough. This whole dvd set is too awesome to be real. And for the price is unbelievable. I enjoy watching it over and over. I do recommend.
