Great product!
Definitely a great tool to have in the work place. I've used mine for over a month now bad enjoy them every time I use them! Only two complaint I have about them is #1 the charge/lin in port plug very light grade doesn't stay in place & #2 when connected to Bluetooth devices the volume doesn't seem to get as loud as it does when just on the tuner setting. I do like the easy programming process & the comfort fit. Definitely an upgrade from my old pair of worktunes hearing protection in which just had a radio with no other options. The optional rechargable battery pack I purchased separately has a very long battery life even when using the Bluetooth feature making it a great investment for the product. Works as indicated
This is my second pair of Worktunes headphones. The first set is still working fine after a year but sometimes my husband and I both are mowing, etc and need to protect our hearing so I bought another set just like the ones I had. They work as indicated but it is very annoying that it has a "govenor" per se on the sound that will only allow it to play to a predetermined level. That's a pain because when on a loud zero-term lawn mower, it's hard to hear my music playing. I want to decide what level to listen to my music, not a factory. However, I would guess this feature is on a lot of the headsets now. Not sure. Other than that, I like the feel of them and they cover my ears completely so I feel they do protect my hearing from the lawnmowers.Lire l'avis complet...

I may wear these in socially questionable situations...
I bought these in preparation for a DIY exterior house project. I anticipated spending a lot of time getting to know my orbital sander at a level we hadn't previously been accustomed. I found these online and thought I was probably dreaming when I imagined listening to podcasts during such a loud project and so preparing myself emotionally for the likelihood that the product description was equal parts marketing and truth. Turned out to all be truth. These things are amazing. They do cancel and block construction noise while delivering great sound quality.
There are some slightly clunky product details—these were not designed by Apple in Cupertino, California after all. The rubber cover flap that protects the input jacks is weak and illformed; mine already fell off. And I really think a device like this, at this price, should have a built in rechargeable battery.

3M Worktunes Bluetooth + FM
Offers fair hearing protection, fm radio, bluetooth pairing with phone (no mic however). I used in a machine shop/foundry and could hear what's going on around me, equipment, people talking to me within 10 ft perhaps. Volume doesn't get loud enough for my taste for use in other non employment places, ie mowing yard, at home, jogging, which I dislike. The FM dial moves easily, and it would be preferable to be able Lock the settings so they aren't accidentally bumped, but thats not a feature. Connects to bluetooth easily, works fine. Bluetooth probably uses more battery than fm use. I hardly ever used bluetooth, but I wanted that option just because. The wires looping out the top, from a design aspect are goofy looking, and could snag on something, or wear out over time. Naturally, I'd like to see these hidden, perhaps inside the head band. Also too bad the antenna doesn't swivel or placed on the back of an ear piece, so that headset can be used easily with say a 3M face shield. I would use Worktunes around back of my neck in these cases. If you have to use a hard hat, this absolutely wont work for you, but then again you're probably not allowed to wear music headphones in those situations any way (osha and all). Rubber headband gets dirty quickly, but is easy to clean. With less than 1 year use, used daily, well cared for, cleaned weekly, the ear cup black plastic coating deteriorated and is coming apart from foam core. Super lame. Cusion coating super thin, maybe 1mm, surprised it didnt tear up sooner.
As for positives, this model offers both FM/AM and bluetooth, which is versatile. I used rechargeable batteries in device, and listened only to the radio, which lasted on average about a 5-day work week, using 7-8 per day nearly continuously minus hour lunch break. I always kept a couple spare AA around to swap. I stored device in a cabinet after each day. That's pretty good battery life in my book. I never tried recharging batteries using the headset mini usb charge/connect port, but I think it can do that.
Setting saved FM channels is easy enough. I didnt consult the manual, but played around with it for a few minutes before I figured it out. Pushing the button in middle of fm dial changes the mode. I didnt think the signal was very strong, but working in a steel building, I still got all commercial fm signals fine. The smaller radio stations, ie college radio, public radio in the area, not so much.
Within say 4 or 6 months of use, the battery door clip cracked. I was gentle with it, but changing batteries weekly apparently was too much stress on door clip. Dust protection for the ports, and batt door for that matter, is lacking. The ports do have rubber stoppers, but they pop open super easily. I taped most of them shut.
After writing this review and noting all my gripes, all warranted I think, I will drop my rating to 3 stars not 4. It's a better headset than standard Pelter models, and improvements over past fm only 3M models is great. But it still feels and wears out like it wasn't made for industrial or professional environments. For the price, I did expect more ruggedness. The ear cushions falling apart, that's pretty negative. The cushion skins are about as poorly chosen/made as low end consumer headphones. Perforated pleather/vinyl or something at least 3mm thick would have been best.
I plan on buying or repairing the cushions for this set and wearing them out until it dies. Then I'll look on the market for another headset, hopefully a better made model that addresses what I really want in a work-geared fm noise protection headset.
I would pay more for top quality, but it seems you bargain for the best among what's available even as they lack ruggedness. In conclusion: this may actually be the best headset (w hearing protection, fm, bluetooth - almost a year ago Nov 2018 when I bought it) but it's not that great. It didn't meet or surpass my expectations.

The Work Tunes are easy to use and the sound is very clear!
The head set rules out excessive noise, and the AM & FM stations are loud enough and come in very clearly with no distractions while mowing my lawn. I also like the open headpiece that is not too heavy and secures the ear muffs tightly. It is very easy to switch from AM, FM, & Blue Tooth.
I have only been using the Work Tunes for less than a month, but I am very satisfied so far and expect them to hold up for a long time!Lire l'avis complet...

Could be louder ( A lot louder)
This is the 3rd pair of 3m Work Tunes I have owned. The first pair that I had purchased 6-7 years ago are still in good working order and I believe are the best pair I own. I purchased these for the Bluetooth & radio feature however it appears to me that over the last few years both the quality and sound of these headphones keep dropping. I wouldn’t pay full price for them but I would still recommend them as they are good for the intended purpose of blocking out noise and still being able to listen to music. The biggest downfall to these headphones is the volume even after setting it to limiter ( shut off safe volume) they still need to be a lot louder. While they are light weight and comfortable I don’t think the padding around the ear muff will hold up like my other 2 pairs of Work Tunes, only time will tell. Lire l'avis complet...

3M Worktunes Wireless Hearing Protector
Well made, but not intuative to use, you need the manual. Bluetooth works great and has a good range. The audio playback lacks the high frequency even when set in POP mode- will load an equaliser APP onto my phone to counteract this. Tends to get heavy on the head after a few hours much more than normal. Battery life awsome. Sturdy too- there's a lot of plasticky ones out there. As an ear defender without the sound on they work as good as ordinary mufflers. No microphone to answer calls. Would I buy again? Yep.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice Unit
Pretty easy to set up with good AM, FM, and Bluetooth sound quality. It muffles out leaf blower noise well. The music volume is limited by design since this device is intended to PROTECT hearing. (Music may not be satisfactory over the background of very load equipment.)

Great wireless hearing protector.
This 3M WORK TUNES WIRELESS HEARING PROTECTOR works great. I use it on my riding mower, and I can rear the music just fine and I don't have to have the volume all the way up. Picks up radio station 70 miles away on FM. I mow for a little over 2 hours and the head set feels just fine. Well worth the money.

Great All Around Set
I purchased and returned two other noise canceling bluetooth earmuff sets before purchasing this one. I read the reviews of the earlier model, not realizing that this newer model, 90542-3DC, was available. The noise canceling, volume and the sound is Great! The voice-over which tells you what frequency the radio is on could be a little better, this is the best set of radio earmuffs I have ever had.
