Worked perfectly, restoring gas-range operation

My original controller quit after ~10yrs, and this same-year / same-hardware-revision / same-software-revision worked perfectly!! You will need the touch-overlay to complete the installation of this control board - I used a hair-dryer to help release the glue on my original overlay, then re-installed it onto the new control board. Another option is to buy a new replacement.

With the immediate "No Bake" problem now-resolved, I turned my attention to the original controller:

My Kenmore gas range exhibited "No Bake", and further diagnosis revealed no power to the ignitor (and thus no turn-on of gas at the dual safety-valve). Cracking open the removed Control Board led me to find the main power output at the largest (of four) relays had become open-circuit!! It appears that the original solder had not whetted the relay-leads properly, and the slender solder-bridge eventually melted open-circuit. I removed the original solder, used an X-Acto knife to scape the relay leads, then re-soldered it.

I pretty much expect that the same thing may happen to this replacement Control Board in a decade, but now I have my own spare, and a good idea where to start looking.Lire l'avis complet...
