Brings back Memories
As a kid, on holidays we would travel to my Grand Parents house for huge family gatherings. Being a nosy kid, my cousin and I would explore the barns including the one which held Grand Dad's 1949 Mercury Coupe. Because of his senior age, he had given up most driving, however, every couple of weeks, he would take it out of the barn, drive it around a big clear area where we all parked when going to the reunions. Once he felt comfortable he would take it out on the old country dirt road and drive and circumvent a 1 mile square section of farm land. It was a pleasure to ride with him, and then came the day when he handed me the key and asked me if I would take it out, charging the battery and rounding out the old cotton cord tires. Like the original, only smaller.
The Hallmark Keepsake 1949 Mercury ornament looks just like the automobile, only much smaller. It looks very nice hanging on a Christmas tree.
