"2001" A Space Masterpiece!

Stanley Kubrick's, "2001 - A Space Odyssey" is one of my very favorite motion pictures. I could use any of the superlatives, but I will not, as they were written long ago, by people far more qualified to judge the film, than myself. I will say this however. Its closest competitor is the Stanislaw Lem"s, "Solaris." I have seen this film also in original Russian language, as shown several times on TCM and its far-weaker 2002 American remake starring George Clooney. The problem with this film is that it is far-too long and is very difficult to follow the action while trying to read the English dialogue at the bottom of the screen. I missed more than half the dialogue the first time out! Lem, who allegedly did not like Kubrick's film, made this as his answer to "2001." I cannot accept his opposition to what is, in my opinion, a far-superior film! Kubrick 10 - Lem 0 is my verdict.Lire l'avis complet...
