Not as good as expected

This is a good, possible great game. However it will live in the shadows of the Call of Duty series. The campaign story is fun but very short. It took me about four hours to beat it. You spend most of story in a four man squad, with no control over squad. No jumping out of planes in this one, a feature lost from the previous MOH. That was a let down. The destructible world is halfway destructible. Graphics, game play, story line are all 5 star. The rainbow Series has a better interactive world than this and you can find all of them for 20.00 or less.
The online is good. The server crashed alot on the release night, issues are getting worked out. You can call air support and all that good stuff but the layout is tricky. You have 3 classes that only go to level 8. Not many perks to gain and the maps fell short of greatness. It has your typical team deathmatches, capture and defend stuff.
This is a fun game to play, good replay value and a good online setup. However its just a watered down COD. Is it worth 60.00, NO. Its really no better than MOH Airborne, with the exception people are playing the new MOH online. However it is worth a look. I suspect you will see a fast price drop on this one.

Medal of Honor has some good elements

MOH with the Frostbite engine, looks great on my older Xbox 360 and the gameplay is surprisingly good and the levels are well crafted. I haven't played the multiplayer yet, but the overall package is a great value. Sure they are many better shooters out there, but I like the modern combat tactics and the real covert ops feel to the missions.Lire l'avis complet...

Great game but it isn't as good as COD Black Ops

Medal of Honor is a great game, with very good control and great gameplay. The story line or campaign mode was to short especially when you compare it to Call of Duty Black Ops. I have played a little of the multiplayer portion and the maps seem small but I can't really give a good assessment of that portion of the game. Oh and on another note there have been some who say that they don't like the idea of being a enemy fighter of known terrorist organizations from the middle east in the multiplayer so there is that aspect of it. That being said though there have been games in the past where in multiplayer mode you can end up being on a team where your an enemy soldier of wars in the past and no one had issues with that so you make the call. One aspect of the game which is kind of kool is the tier one mode one caveat though is the fact that if you die you have to resart the level which is incredibly frustrating. Its a time based aspect so just let me finish level and then rank me.
So overall its not a bad game just try to get a good price on it. I paid $20 with the shipping here on ebay so it was worth it for me. If you end up paying more like $40 for it you should have tried to get Black Ops.

Medal of Honor (Xbox 360, 2010)

The fact that two separate companies developed the campaign and multiplayer modes of play gives you the impression of playing two totally different games. I couldn't praise the single player mode enough for making a REALISTIC modern era shooter. Don't get me wrong, I love me some COD, but the way the enemies fight and the way you have to play without dying every two seconds reflects what would happen in the real world. I do have some beef with the AI and how dumb your friendlies can be at times, but overall the single campaign mode is a blast. Multiplayer is another story. I've heard it being compared to the Battlefield series (since the multiplayer side of the game was made by the same production company), but I wasn't too terribly impressed. I do like the idea of having campaign modes in the multiplayer side of the game, but it didn't have the same appeal as the single player campaign. Overall, I can say that I recommend this game, but with the new COD coming out in a week, you may just wanna wait it out if your strapped for cash and can only get one game this holiday season.Lire l'avis complet...

Great cinematic quailty but lack of customization in multiplayer

This game continues the cinematic tradition of the previous Medal of Honor games but catapults it into the modern era. Using the start of the 2002 campaign in Afghanistan as the back drop, the game follows AFO Tier 1, 2, and 3 operators as they prep for the massive Operation Anaconda. The single player is very immerse and you really feel like you are not only a Tier 1 SEAL or DELTA operator but an integral part of the over operation. The campaign is short but elegantly put together and moves very smoothly between levels to tell a compelling story.
The multiplayer is fun but currently has a step learning curve. When I first started I was taken out twice as many times as I took out others. But once you figure out where not to stay and think about it as actual combat (aka keep your head down) it becomes really intense.
Tier 1 mode is pretty interesting. Putting the time limit and doing away with a lot of the crutches like ammo from team mates, a par time, increased difficulty and no check points really focuses you on needing to think and move just like an Operator.
Overall i would recommend this to anyone who is a nerd when it comes to military history or wants a very engrossing narrative.
The short campaign and lack of more customization to the weapons and characters, especially in multiplayer, keep this from being perfect but it is a fine piece of work, and Tier 1 mode will keep you occupied for awhile after you've played through the main story.

If you can get this for around $10 - $15, Buy it it's fun!!

Bought this game on a recommendation from a friend.
I usually wait awhile for prices to settle and reviews to circulate before deciding to buy any video game.

The game engine/environment is cool. DICE/Frostbite did well with this one. I like the destructible environment thing as I stated in my review of Battlefield2 Bad Company.

Storyline is cool, and there's plenty of action outside the traditional FPS thing, with ATV riding, Helicopter Gunship Gunning, and manning special weapons like the minigun. I also like how you can sprint towards cover, and then slide on your knees into the cover....well thought out.
The melee kills are cool too, and if you do it right you can sneak up on alot of the AI and take them out by hand!

Pistols are accurate and effective and it seems you always have one at your disposal with infinite ammo.
My ONLY complaint about this entire game was that it was too short. It needs a few extra chapters. Hence 4 out of 5..

Other than that, I recommend it at the price you can get it for now that it's been out for awhile.

Hope this helps...

Great and underrated game!

I really enjoyed this game. In my opinion it was very underrated, receiving some review scores as low as 6/10. This is a high quality game that is VERY fun to play. Both single-player and multi-player are fantastic. The multi-player is developed by DICE who created the Battlefield series so if you like those you have an idea what this is like. The single player is developed by in house EA studio Danger Close and they did a very good job creating a realistic yet fun story driven single player experience. It has all of the intense scripted moments of a Call of Duty game, but is focused almost entirely on a small portion of the war in Afghanistan rather than a global catastrophe. Please if you are on the fence about the game I would just buy it, especially for the price you can find it new these days (I got my copy new for xbox 360 for 29$ including shipping). Hope this helps someone!Lire l'avis complet...

Overall Good Game

Having been a player of all Call of Duty games, as well as all Battlefield games, I know a great first person shooter when I see one. This, however is not a great one. The graphics are sub-par to modern shooters, which is unfortunate. The single player game-play has a lot to live up to, and unfortunately fell short. I find the multiplayer experience to be very enjoyable, and at least on par with other shooters, probably thanks to DICE designing the multiplayer, as they designed the 2 most recent Battlefield games. Overall the game is good, and worth a buy if you have Xbox Live. I wouldn't buy it for the singleplayer mode alone.Lire l'avis complet...

Better than COD campaign, almost better than COD multiplayer.

This game is awesome. In terms of campaign, it's a way better version of call of duty in my opinion. I feel that the characters were more interesting overall and liked the plot way more than the COD ones. I also liked how they left the end of the game open for another one which will i'm sure be a much better than this one. DICE, who also makes Battlefield, are on their way to the top, and it shows with this game. THe multiplayer i feel could be worked on. This is why i gave the game 4/5 stars. It just seems like you die too easily when playing online. A few bullets and you're dead. Other than that, a great buy.Lire l'avis complet...

Awesome game, leveling up is difficult due to its realism, its a must buy.

No game is perfect, but if you play shooters because you enjoy the visuals and actual gameplay then you should like this game. The campaign is descent but it seems as though the visuals look a lot less polished than the multi-player. The multi-player is great, absolutely no complaints except there is one map that is way to small, the fort I believe. In the future I think if they added vehicles (like in Crysis or Batttlefield), destructible environment that creates a new map and an easier achievement level this game would be up there with the rest of the shooters. I think the bad rap is a bit over done, playing the Taliban or Opposing forces that look like the Taliban is less than favorable and we as a society are in a place where this choice was not a good one, but if you can get past that, it's an awesome game.Lire l'avis complet...
