This was one of the best written TV shows of all time and was intelligently written. It had what our lives sometimes miss; loyal friends, humor, sad story lines with episodes that end happily. The pilot episode Castle left me wanting more, much more in fact, and that is exactly what a good pilot should do. The relationship formed between the two leads, as the season progresses, is unquestionably one of the best and is, so far, most endearing. It is impossible to not like them. I've been a fan of Nathan Fillion's since his days on Firefly, and bringing in a relatively newcomer, Stana Katic, with her first leading role, was gold by casting department!!

The ABC staff was trying to cut cost and canceled the show. I wish it was picked up by another network like a lot of other shows have (i.e. Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Fox to NBC, Lucifer: Fox to Netflix, Designated Survivor: ABC to Netflix, ect.). It was a show that I could get lost in! Such a shame it got cancelled but lives on through TV show box sets!!Lire l'avis complet...

Castle-Complete 1st Season - A ROYALLY Good Adventure!

I bought this DVD set as a gift for my son, I had NEVER watched the show. BUT, over the Christmas Holiday I had the wonderful good fortune to be introduced to a well written and totally enjoyable mystery show. The initial scenes when the body is found will usually make you jump or cause the little hairs on the back of your neck to stand up! It also has just enough comedy to relieve any tension and that would have made Hitchcock proud!

Rick Castle is a famous mystery writer that becomes involved in a local NYC homicide. He is called in to advise the police on crimes that are made to resemble murders in his books. He finds first hand day to day homicide investigations to be just the thing he needs for inspiration for his own writting career. The only problem is that he and the lead detective get along like fire and water. But, he is a friend of the mayor, so she is stuck with him! This leads to some spirited crime solving and genuinely personal relationships between the major characters.

The characters are well written and casted well right down to the supporting cast members. You find yourself trying to solve these cases right along with the detectives. I totally recommend this series, and will be buying the second season whenever it comes out!Lire l'avis complet...

EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT!! GREAT SHOW!

My entire family loves this show!! (husband, teen) the writing is quick and sharp, the characters together, wonderful!
Stana gets to be beautiful & intelligent. Nathan Fillion still plays a charming scoundrel, very similar to his FIREFLY character. I was ROFL!! when, for the Halloween episode, he dressed as a "Space Cowboy" (the same outfit he wore while filming Firefly/Serenity!!) tooo funny!!!
KUDOS TO THE WRITERS, well written story lines, great humor, the characters interaction is flawless! That tension between the two leads will be as TV Land famous as Moonlighting, Remington Steele & X-Files!
I bought the dvd set as a gift for the hubby. Also, for the extras & to be able to watch without commercial interruption!!Lire l'avis complet...

I had to rebuy this because my other series one wouldn't play because of a damaged disc, all discs were in great shape played wonderfully on my blue ray player

Five Stars

I started watching Castle mostly because of Nathan Fillion, but I quickly grew to love it for the rest of the cast as well. Stana Katic shines as Detective Kate Beckett, the no-nonsense cop who refuses to take no for an answer. It's definitely a nice change to see such a strong. independent female lead. Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever add a nice touch of comedy as Detectives Esposito and Ryan, Beckett's partners. The chemistry between Fillion and Katic is undeniable and is one of the show's main draws. Refreshing new take on crime solving with the aid of a mystery writer. Richard Castle (mystery writer) and Kate Beckett (NYPD detective) become somewhat uncomfortable, but successful crime-solving partners with some romantic angst thrown in for spice. Castle: The Complete First Season

I absolutely love this show! This Season had only 10 episodes since it started as a mid season replacement. This show is about A Writer "Richard Castle", and a New York City detective "Kate Beckett". Castle needs a new Muse for his next set of Novels and Detective Beckett is that Muse. They end up getting paired up together and solve crimes. I loved all the episodes. The interaction with the two lead actors "Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic play well off each other and the sparks just fly! The entire cast is entertaining. The cases are not very dark like CSI but a little lighter and the cases are not difficult to figure out Who did it. This show has a comedic side and a serious side and they blend really well together. For me its a little bit of escapism. Castle is a great show

Really enjoy this show. Show has a little bit of everything to it. Drama, action ,comedy and romance. All the actors do a wonderful job. Like the added features to tapes. Outtakes, behind the scenes and a deleted scenes. Was a great buy. Will get season 8 when it comes out but sorry to see how the are ending it. Fun and engaging.

Castle is a procedural cop show, but also has light moments of comedy as the characters play of each other. Love this show!
