Is it worth the upgrade to Blu Ray?

In this review I will go over the Blu-Ray transfer first and then do a quick review of the movies next.
For me it was a no-brainer as I had none of these movies in my collection. It's a straight upgrade to Blu-Ray from the great Ultimate Edition that came on DVD a few years ago.
If you are a Bond fan and don't have these titles, or an older DVD version, it's absolutely worth doing it.
For Your Eyes Only looks fantastic. The Blu-Ray transfer makes the exotic locations stand out like never before.
It's better than any of the DVD versions available. However, if you have From Russia with Love or Thunderball on the Ultimate Edition DVD, I honestly can't say you will notice a huge difference. They are better to be sure, and Thunderball is a little better than From Russia with Love, but there is only so much than can be done to improve the older ones from the 60s. The Ulitmate Edition DVD already did a lot of improvement on the Connery titles. My comparison was based on Goldfinger on the Ultimate DVD vs From Russia With Love on Blu Ray.
As far as the movies go, these three titles are consistantly mentioned among the top five Bond films. Of the Blu Ray sets currently available, none of these titles are a "weak link."
One more note about the set: The outer box looks great, but this particular one is also really large for a Blu Ray boxset.Lire l'avis complet...

This is the Way.

If you are a Bond fan, you have to have this collection. These are true Bond movies and not that awful stuff they are trying to foster off on us as a Bond movie as in "Quantum of Solace." The only people left over from real Bond movies was "M" and James Bond, except he lost his sense of humor and sophistication. There were no gadgets and no exotic automobiles. And why waste the best theme music representing Bond by playing it only at the end of the movie. Watch the real Bond movies and you will see what Ian Fleming was writing about. Great classic on Blue Ray

Great classic action with Hi-def picture quality, and the purest digital sound quality. A must have box set for 007 maniac.
