Mora Goes Upscale
This Mora broke the low price barrier but remains a bargain for competent bushcrafting knives. The blade is large enough and heavy enough to baton without worrying about breaking the tang off. If you tend to use super-human force when batonning, I suggest you carry an Axe. The handle is excellent and very grippy. The fire steel is probably the same as the Light My Fire used on other Moras and works very well. The sheath is very adaptable to either fixed or dangle carry. As with all Moras, it keeps the knife securely in place without worry about it falling out. I did not find the blade sharpener to be particularly effective. If you need to carry a sharpener, consider a SAK steel that will not eat away at the blade. The knife arrived sharper than a mother-in-laws tongue and you can probably keep it that way with only stropping if you are careful. Mora has recently announced the new, full-tang version for about $40 more but I cannot see it being significantly better than this one. Great edge, great workmanship, great design.
