The Movie and More Crammed Into One Disc!

Most movie based games tend to be, well, pretty bad. The Spider-Man games proved that a great game can come from a movie. Let's just run through the simplicities...

Sound: Sound is good, there's some decent music playing and the voice acting is done by the actors in the movie. Sound effects are standards, considering there's not much needed.
Graphics: The graphics are very good, especially the lookg of the city and buildings.
Controls: Controls would have a difficulty of about medium. There are always many controls for Spider-Man games, just because he has a lot of moves. The great thing is that these games have a tutorial to teach you how to use your powers.
Length: This game is definitely worth the money you spend on it and now that it's really affordable, it's MORE than worth your hard (or not so hard) earned cash.
Difficulty: It has its moments, but overall it's about a medium difficulty.

So there's the basics, but what makes this game so good? Well the game follows the plot of the movie loosely. What's nice is that by following the plot loosely, we are able to face some other villains along the way - making this A LOT more interesting. What's also nice is that this game has mapped NYC to a perfect replica. You can swing through the city and visit real landmarks. Unlike many games that just push you through your adventure, Spider-Man follows the Grand Theft Auto style: you roam around and when you're ready to take something on, you go for it at your leisure. While you're not completing the main story missions, there's a lot of side activities and challenges to keep you busy. You'll also be required to help out citizens along the way. Varying from tasks such as stopping a mugging, saving a person who may fall from a building, take people to the hospital, etc. these activities earn you points. With the points, you can upgrade and get new moves to add to your arsenal. So trying to accomplish everything will definitely keep you playing long after you beat the story mode. The fighting is great, especially with Doc Ock. You'll basically replicate the fight scenes from the movie, but each with a little twist and challenge involved. Overall, Spider-Man sets the standard for not only movie based games, but comic based game. As you can see from the newest Hulk release and the new Ultimate Spider-Man, this game has set a higher bar. Action fans and Spider-Man fans should all be plenty appeased by this release.

Wonderful Spider-Man game with solid controls and fluid progression

Very fun game. Came with a good amount of scratches, but it runs perfectly. Overall great experience, would recommend if you're a fan of retro-games, and the wall-crawler. And definitely if you're looking for a good Spider-Man game.

Pizza Time!

One of the best super hero games of it's generation

I love spider-man and this is honestly one of the best spider-man games out there. The swinging feels great and gameplay is fun. It's a surprisingly spectacular game considering it is a movie tie in.

It's perfect!

The game's graphics holds up pretty good today. I'm getting used to the controls of the game. The story in the game is gr8 and the voice acting is top notch! I'm looking forward to finishing the game. Other than that, I love the game and I'm glad I have it 😁👍👍Lire l'avis complet...

VERY TALL BUILDINGS, good graphics, cheesy cars!!!!!!!

I like this game because you can explore more then the movie.
You can also climb the statue of liberty and jump off the empire state building!
I don't like it because on the game once you hit the water you die! I mean who
in the right mind would really think that a super hero like spider man dose not
even know how to SWIM!but it is still a little fun to go flying because you just
got hit by the train.I got this game because I know what the movie is like so I
did.my favorite part of the game is probably how you get to fling the bad guy in
a circle,up into the air or just plainly fling them down, left, right, forward
or backward. I hope I have helped you with what you were looking for.

Nice Good Guy SandBox

One of the few sandbox games for the Game-Cube where you don't play a member of a crime organization and spend most of the time steeling cars or committing murder or some other time of felony. In this game you do the opposite, you spend most of the time stopping Car thefts, muggings, robberies, etc. And instead of using cars, you web-swing all over the place, flying above the citizens and jumping from building to building to get where you want to go. The combat system could be a little more intuitive and the missions are a little bland, but overall a good "good-guy sandbox".Lire l'avis complet...

This game is a meme

I bought this game for two things:
1) the momentum swinging mechanics
2) the pizza theme

Spiderman 2 Gamecube Game

We got an old gamecube given to us so we were looking for old games for it. With it being an older game, the graphics aren't amazing but it's still a great game!

The greatest Spider-Man game ever made

Yes, I went that far. This game simply cannot be rated high enough. What was released as a movie promo is an extraordinary jewel.

Let me explain. You are the Spider-Man, and you explore and protect a "perfect" model of New York City. Apparently, New York City has no gas stations, grocery stores, laundromats, vending machines, or Hispanic people. Anyway, you can go all over, including Times Square, Central Park, the Flatiron District, and of course, the famed Liberty Island.

Besides the fantastic world, the combat system is very enjoyable--Spider-Man collects "Hero Points" to buy attack and web swing upgrades, which is somewhat RPG-esque, in a way. And like RPGs, you may have to do some "grinding", here meaning "solving petty crimes or emergencies", but no matter how many times, it doesn't get boring or irritating. Most of the combat upgrades merely provide more fancy ways to thump the thugs, so at any given point, you'll always have the combat skills you need to complete your mission.

Speaking of web swing upgrades, nothing beats zipping effortlessly thru the city on Spidey's webs. On nearly every Chapter, a new Web Swing Speed upgrade is available to buy, which makes it very easy to get where you want to go, rapidly. You can buy little fancy upgrades and tricks for your webs, too, but they are not essential. The web-swinging aspect is one of the things that makes this game so great.

The audio--the audio is a right masterpiece. Voice acting includes Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, and Alfred Molina, all reprising their movie roles. Of course Spider-Man will throw out witty banter as he swings about the city, thrashin' thugs, but the criminals and civilians have great audio bits too, if you care to listen. You'll hear references to A Clockwork Orange, Gilligan's Island, and other such concepts, if you pay attention.

The bosses and thugs are very colourful, literally and figuratively, having voice acting and a few different weapons with which to assault the Spider-Man. Doc Ock is the main adversary of this game, and the one around which much of the plot revolves.

There are also references to the previous game, such as green feathers on the top of the Chrysler Building. If you like continuity, then you'll appreciate such things.

TL;DR: The game is unspeakably brilliant. You swing through an open-world NYC as Spider-Man, solving crimes and punching thugs. What's not to like? Well? Buy the game already!
