Below average game, above average trophies!

Do you want PS3 trophies? 11 gold and a platinum to be exact? Well one playthrough on easy will net you 9 gold trophies for the campaign, do it on medium and get another gold, and if you play through once on hard without breaking the controller from the sometimes cheap and poor game mechanics... You earn another gold and the coveted platinum "Determinated". This game is pretty bad: the cover system is clunky, the shooting mechanics imprecise, and when walking slowly Connor shakes his butt back and forth like he's samba dancing! Speaking of Connor while Bloodgood, and Common reprise their roles from the film as Voice Overs but the muppet they have playing John Connor sounds more like a dawsons creek reject then anything like the Christian Bale gruff batman action hero voice one would expect. Not that the story or writing is enough to need a better performance... same old dull dialogue and story here. Moving from place to place and objective battling the repetitive cast of random skynet robots with some token motivational speech in between. The third person shooter stuff here is basic, Each weapon works well against different machines and each one has a weakness to exploit. Prioritizing targets, and careful use of cover and movent is about the only real skill needed here. But you're not here for a Socom smashing Uncharted killing 3rd person shooter of the century, you're here for an easy platinum and 11 golds, and this game will deliver that in a handful of hours and fade lovingly into the background memory of your PS3 trophy collection... Never to be spoken of or played again.Lire l'avis complet...

Decent game hidden under major flaws.

I loved the franchise ever since I watched the first Terminator movie about 5-ish years ago. I watched Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale the day it was released on DVD and loved it. I got my PS3 for Christmas and decided to get the game on Ebay for a decent price. I knew the game wasn't known to be great and I didn't have high expectations but I loved the movie and the series so I tried it out.

After playing the first level (Split-Screen Co-Op) a lost gem in video games these day was a great surprise, I knew that this game wasn't going to have good graphics, but the game play was at least a decent night with a few people switching up the two controllers (I didn't even bother with single playing). By the third level the glitches started on, one which was hilarious is I was froze in mid battle couldn't move, couldn't shoot, couldn't die. This was cool considering the machines put all interest in the frozen guy in the middle of the battlefield where as my buddy shot him dead and I was instantly revived and free to move again.

The game was incredibly short, easy (even on hard mode), and the on-rail segments were horribly fusterating.

Pros:
- Franchise tie-in
- Good Controls
- Split Screen Campaign
- Easy Platinum Trophy

Cons:
- GLITCHES
- Short
- Zero Replay Value
- Horrendous Graphics
- No Christian Bale
- Ruined a good opportunity

Okay but not Great

This is a short and repetitive cover based shooter. The graphics are relatively good and the sound is decent as well. Like most games developed to launch with movies, this appears to have been rushed as the story ends abruptly and glitches do occur that lock up the PS3 requiring a reboot of the PS3. I enjoyed the game since I like the Terminator movies but I will not likely play it a second time since I have a large backlog of un-played games and limited time to play them. It's worth the price that it typically sells for used in 2019.Lire l'avis complet...

Terminator Salvation Review.

The game has a very poor graphics and its very slow, with out mentioning that is very short also, but the feeling of a fight with a machine is indescribable there are some parts of the game that are really cool and some others are the same thing just with a different scenario, I recommend the game if you want to expend 20 bucks and want to play like 4 hours (that's the full length of the game)but don't create high expectations for this game, if you switch to a harder level it can be a little more interesting, but right when you're getting on the game it ends.Lire l'avis complet...

Terminator Salvation for PS3

Great storyline, but the gameplay is kind of weak. I'm new to modern games, but there seems to be alot of video scenes and very little actual gameplay. It's like you watch 5 minutes of movie, then fight a battle in one area, then watch more movie. I like adventure games where I actually control the path I take. The game has also frozen up on me twice in a week.Lire l'avis complet...

Awesome franchise, Very poorly made game!

I decided to buy this game because I am a huge fan of the Terminator Franchise and wanted to support the game. The game was a huge disappointment. For starters, this game froze up or crashed regularly, which made the game nearly unplayable. Once, there were two cut scenes playing on top of each other, so there were subtitles, as well as voices, on top of another cut scene's subtitles and voices. The game wasn't altogether unenjoyable, but there were only 3 or 4 different enemies throughout the entire game! And it only took a matter of a few hours to beat the whole thing. To top it off, there were multiple misspellings and missing words in both the game manual and cut scene subtitles, which simply showed the developers to be quite careless and unprofessional and this was reflected in the game. The best thing you will get out of this game is a great opening cut scene, and some easy gold trophies (though most would even call this a detriment).Lire l'avis complet...

Great, for a movie game

Most games released in conjunction with a Hollywood film are, let's face it, not so good.

Terminator Salvation however is great, for a "movie game".

It actually takes place before the film, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, nothing is spoiled by playing the game.
The game play is set up pretty nicely, in a fairly standard third-person perspective. Even though the maps are mostly linear, they are beautifully done, and give a definite sense of depth.

It is a relatively short game, with a second player, we beat the game in about 4 hours. Some may consider this as a drawback, but for the casual gamer, such as myself, it is actually appealing, and guarantees many replays. It's nice to be able to pick up a game and go through it in an afternoon, once in a while, instead of everything days (or longer) to get through the story.

Overall, it's not the best game ever made, but very enjoyable, and highly recommended if you liked the movie.

Only buy this game if you care about Trophies

It'll take you like 4 hours for the platinum. It will be unfun and mildly frustrating the whole time. If you buy this game you have an unnatural obsession with trophy hunting. I bought this game. My previous comments are still valid.Lire l'avis complet...

Terminator Salvation, PS3

Overall the game is good. On the PS3 I guess I expect more from a $600 console so I am not overly impressed with the graphics. They are fine but nothing jaw dropping. The human character animation looks as robotic as the machines.

I would prefer more combat with the T-600's but instead you get plenty of trigger time against flying disks machines -- a little too much.
It is fast paced and a bit short but if you like the idea of playing in a post apocalyptic world with Terminators then it should suffice.

An Unreal Tournament like death match version would be nice.

The game kind of makes me want to see the movie again as I was not overly impressed with it either.

Lots of potential

Overall I thought this was a very good game with lots of potential to be a great game...only if it were extended and had some kind of multi player.

The story was awesome and the controls were simple to learn. It took me a few hours to beat and I will probably run through it a few more times.

Also would have been nice to have a few more options on weapons, I think there is a total of 5 guns.
