I bought 3 of the Thomas & Friends DVDs on Ebay, at very low prices, for my soon-to-be 5-year-old granddaughter. She loves them and has learned a great deal from them. She can name more than 20 of the characters and reads most of their names when they're printed on the screen. She asks intelligent questions about what happens on the DVDs and has even displayed transference of the lessons to other events in her life on occasion. The interactive nature of some of the special features on the DVDs has taught her quite a bit about the proper operation of the remote control. While the didactic tone of the narrator can become somewhat grating to the supervising adult, I heartily recommend these DVDs as wonderfully engaging learning tools for our youths.Lire l'avis complet...

Worth Buying

One of the DVDs with the Little Engines. Here is a breakdown of the episodes:

Thomas and the Special Letter -- 4/5. Thomas gets in an accident before the engines go away to see some of their fans in the big city.

Home At Last -- 3.5/5. Skarloey returns from repairs and helps Duncan escape from a tunnel.

Rock N Roll -- 3/5. Duncan loves to sway when he coasts down the line and eventually he pays the price.

Steam Roller -- 3.5/5. Sir Handel and George the steam roller try to show each other who exactly is better.

Toad Stands By -- 4.5/5. Oliver gets sick of the cars showing him disrespect and takes matters into his own hands.

Bowled Out -- 4/5. A new diesel arrives on the Island to only be rude and whine. After breaking down, Duck and Stepney must pull his train.

Don't Judge a Book By It's Cover (Music Video) -- One of the better tunes and display of trains.

A good compilation of episodes from the fourth season of Thomas & Friends

This children's DVD has a decent amount of episodes about learning how to improve your friendship, helping out, being polite, etc. The narration is very good and the plots are very nice. Even the sing-a-long song, "Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover," is educational for both kids and adults. I would recommend this DVD to all train fans!Lire l'avis complet...

My son loves it!

my son has alot of thomas dvd's and some are very hard to find so when i bought this i didnt know much about what was on it i just got it because i knew my son didnt have it yet. well i think this is a Great dvd for kids! it goes along with all the other thomas dvd's i think they are all very educational and teaches kids to share with friends and how to react when you have a problem. all in all a great dvd for any child!Lire l'avis complet...

I recommend this for toddlers.

I bought this DVD for my son. It has been absolutely perfect for him. He enjoys the story narration as well as the sing a long songs with words as this is truly a great way to learn to read!
