Adorable little game, perfect for younger gamers and Kirby faithful.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is the tenth installment of the Kirby video game series, and a return to a more traditional platformer game. This game is absolutely adorable. It is Kirby's first venture on to the Wii.
Epic Yarn is set in Patch Land, as opposed to Kirby's usual Dream Land location. Patch Land features a "unique knitted design based on animated yarn and a world of cloth and textiles." The game also feature 1 and 2 player modes and simple, easy to learn controls. Some of Kirby's traditional powers, like flight, are not here, since he's made of yarn. But they are new abilities to replace the old ones, such as Kirby can transform into a car for extra speed, or capture enemies and throw them like balls of yarn.
It is a beautiful, simple game. This is the game for the younger gamer who are playing a Kirby title for the first time. It's also a great title for the Kirby die-hard. I first played a Kirby series title on my old grey brick Game Boy, and this game totally brought me back to the early 90's. I love the look and feel of the game. Epic Yarn--Epic Game

I bought this as a gift for my grandchildren. They loved it! It is challenging enough to keep them engaged, yet easy enough that they do not get discouraged. The music actually adds to the playing experience and adds a layer of happiness to the playing experience. The bottom line is that my grandkids LOVED it. Kirby is Pretty Epic

Grab this for under $10 and you've got a bargain. I have never seen my kids so engrossed by a video game. They're 6 and 8 and they've beaten it already and are noe working to unlock secret levels. They play 2 players simultaneously, which works well for them. They even like decorating Kirby's pad, lol. It is a fun game and the control is good. The graphics don't look great at first glance, but if you look close, everything looks like cloth and yarn just like it is supposed to.Lire l'avis complet...

Fun Game

Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Wii is a fun game. I guess I'll start by saying that. The game has a lot of fun and unique things for you to do since the idea is that it's a whole game made of yarn.
For some reason instead of giving the player the choice of different remotes like other games or at least the option to use the nun-chuk this game can only be played using the Wii remote all by itself which means using the control pad (the directional buttons in the shape of a plus sign) as your only form of moving. It is possible that some people don't mind playing this way (or even like it) however I don't enjoy it (It doesn't take long for it to start making your thumbs hurt) and it seems like a mistake to not make an option for people that don't like to play that way.
So really I think that the game itself is good. It was the choice to make the controls this way that was unwise.
…Not a whole lot of story to this game either, but I’m not sure if people are looking for story when they buy a game like this…I don’t horribly mind the simple story, although if you are looking for lots of cut-scenes this doesn’t have too many in it. Beautifully Unique!

Singlehandedly one of the best games that I've ever played!

I admit that I was skeptical with the absence of Copy Abilities and the baby-looking atmosphere. However, I was pleasantly surprised. More like I was blown away.

This game is ...just ....plain..... adorable! And awesome!

You can't die in this game, but your hard work can be destroyed in a moment if you're not careful.
Beads are your "life" in this game.
Get hit, crushed, or fall into a pit, your perfect streak is gone and you lose the beads you amassed.
Will you still earn that gold rank? Can you find the treasures?

Therein lies your challenge!

A perfectionist will appreciate the challenge. And whooo is it challenging to keep a perfect score in the later levels.

There aren't any Copy Abilities in this game, but there are transformations. Some are more fun than others, but it's still a joy to behold.

The music! The music is INCREDIBLE!

The boss fights are fun and with the bead predicament, there's that extra challenge.

The graphics are stunning. Everything is based on various crochet and sewing items. Yarn, denim, stitches, etc. The creative, unique ways that the developers use the fabric theme is just beautiful. Even the idle animations and the level unlocking animations are superbly executed.

Give this game a fair chance! Different isn't always bad!

Perfect for my girls.

Bought this for my 6 and 4 year old daughters. They love it! Perfect for them, as there is no violence, they can't die, and it's adorable. The early levels are really easy for my little one and the later levels challenging enough for my older girl. Two player co-op is fantastic! The best part of it is that either player can press "A" and become a ghost (or "A for Angel," as they say) if they get stuck, which allows the little one to play along on the harder levels without the frustration of getting stuck. Controls are easy, though there are more advanced moves. And I found the game to be a lot of fun myself which means I get to play along with my kids. Fun and team building!

Kirby Epic Yarn- A Game that Lives Up To Its Yarn Based Legend

Such a great game, I'm only about two hours into it. It is a side scrolling platformer with tons of unique things Kirby can turn into, including a weight, a car, a parachute, etc. It has traditional story telling voiceover (ie its name... epic yarn)... and uses the Wii Remote sideways.

It is really a breath of fresh air into the Kirby Franchise and him just swallowing enemies and using an ability- this is totally new.... totally original and all the way worth it as a Kirby addition to the Wii library! What rocks even more is during storytelling, they address the fact he cant suck up enemies and use that ability anymore- in a great way... so its dealt with and addressed and then moves on to the game. Never seen that before but its done in such a great way I was like "ok.. hes cursed darn it... heres whats next and its even better and more awesome then before... yesss..."Lire l'avis complet...
