Good, but not Great

The sound and graphics are very well developed. The story's pretty decent too. In my opinion, the last time a game played out like this was God of War. But the difference is its hard to compare this to God of War. Almost impossible. The flaws of the game are that when you get going with the game, certain enemies require more strategy based on your terrain and what powers you can use. And then the bosses you fight are practically Force-immune right off the bat, so you have to rely on using your environment and waiting it out for the time to strike. But these are minor issues, really. The reason why many people knocked this game as being average is because they released reviews for it preemptively based on what the demos offered. But its the same thing all over again. It's a demo, NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT. I heard the demo was okay. But I still bought this game. And honestly? For being my first Star Wars game, it was pretty enjoyable. But if you're skeptical, better to rent it or borrow it. Play it a bit. If you like it, buy your own. The game has two alternate endings, the option to replay earlier levels with unlocked force powers and increased stats, and even costumes and customizable lightsabers. So there is some decent replayability, but the drawback is, you can only really play it through twice. The story's the same for the most part, but the endings are worth seeing.

Graphics: 4.5/5
Sound: 5/5
Story: 4/5 (considering its Star Wars, maybe a 3.75/5 for non-fanatics)
Gameplay: 3.5/5 (Simply: the Physics in the game are great. But the drawback is, you're still pretty confined to indestructible environments with destructible/manipulative objects. Nevertheless, its always fun to throw a bad guy into a group of his friends. Or supercharge him with force lightning and launch him...so on...)
Replayability: 3/5 (Aside from playing it once and playing it again if you want the alternate ending, there isn't much to it aside unlocking everything.)

One of the Best Star Wars game

Many reviews of this game are not positive. I decided to get the game anyways and I like it a lot. The game has beautiful graphics, great sounds, music and awesome cut scenes. Each level has different enemies and they all look great.
There are many bosses, bigger mosters etc. The worlds are detailed and look breathtaking. Lucas Art put a lot of work to make visuals in the game look really great. The game play can be frustrating because the controls are not perfect and often it is difficult to kill the enemies. But once you learn combos killing enemies is rewarding. There are some bugs in the game where you can get stuck between walls and cannot get out. However, all these shortcomings cannot spoil my fun with this game and the Sith powers! I do not agree with reviews which rate the game below average. I cannot give the game Excellent rating because of difficult controls and occasional bugs but definitely this game is above average. I would recommend this game to Star Wars fun and the gamers who enjoy games like Devil May Cry.

Great Game!

I was a little concerned with some of the reviews I read one some of the game websites. However I was very surprised with how good this game really is. If you are a Star Wars fan you'll really dig it. This is by far the best SW game when it comes to using the force. Being to tare just about anything out of the wall, picking up enemies, force lightning, force push...it has it all. Lightsaber combat is great as well because there are some pretty cool combos and neat ways to introduce force lightning/push into your attacks. Above all I was really impressed with how tight the story is and how it fits into Star Wars continuity. When I first heard about Vader's apprentice I thought, "oh yeah, right, he never had an apprentice! how are they going to work that in?!?" ...but they did a great job and you'll get a kick out of how the story affects the original trilogy. Other reviewers will get into more of the game details but I just wanted to add my two cents and say that this game really is very good.Lire l'avis complet...

Usually it’s canon if people like it

Part 2 was a money grab and that makes me think that this game was a money grab. It is fun to play even though Luke had trouble lifting his ship but Starkiller can throw around imperial cruisers and ti fighters throughout the game. If you’re a fan of the original movies check out the books that cover the time after return of the Jedi, they used to be canon until the movies were made, and it was a good story. The darth bane stories are good also Lire l'avis complet...

Star Wars The Force Unleashed

Love the graphics, though the characters could move a little faster. Game is fun to play, not too difficult to control, and controls are simple enough for a younger child to play successfully (6 or 7 years). All in all the game is probably worth the hype surrounding its' release, especially if you're a sci-fi junky. btw, if your PS3 is connected to a high def television or monitor and you're still using the old a/v connection, you won't even come close to getting the graphics that the game (or nearly an other PS3 game) is capable of, you must use the HDMI output.Lire l'avis complet...

best game

I like it first off because I have it on Wii since I was younger, even though I struggled on it and gave up on it at the time. I remember it being hard since I wasn't into quest games. Now, I am and it makes me remember the good times of it. I do love the graphics on this game, and how easy it is to go here and there compare to my star trek game. I love the story of starkiller even though am on second mission as him. I really love the fact that he has a really good double jump and that I can upgrade his stuff. The cut scenes are made so well its like watching a 🎥 movie. All and all its a great game.Lire l'avis complet...

Repetitive game play, Good storyline, Fun Powers

Overall a pretty decent game. I found myself compelled to play so I could hear the next part of the story. That being said, I am definitely a Star Wars fan. The story may not be as gripping for someone who is only luke warm on star wars.

Gameplay gets repetitive after a while. I think the developers may have tried to avoid this by having a pretty diversified group of enemies, but ultimately it seems almost unavoidable that the game becomes repetitive.

The force powers are fun to use and play around with, but do have their limits. I personally find it a little annoying to memorize combos so I don't really make a ton of use of them.

Overall, a good game to play start to finish at least one time. Re-playability may be minimal after that though.

Highly satisfying, mostly

Excellent storyline for Star Wars fans; good variety of enemies. My biggest complaint is that it's very hard to find the weakness of certain enemies. You can try every combo and tactic under the sun and it seems like all you're doing is chip-chip-chipping away at their health no matter what you do. Any gamer knows it's much more satisfying when there's at least one specific attack that works better than the others. The camera occasionally gets stuck in a boss arena, too. But for the most part you've got a wide variety of Force powers to play with, a great diversity of landscapes and enemy onslaughts, and a pretty decent number of hidden treasures to seek out.Lire l'avis complet...

Good, but it could have been great.

This game was a well made game.

The linear story was fine. It used the George Lucas method of writing, that starts with an existing outline, that the writers have to fill. So we have the comedy relief robot. The just met love interest. We have all of the talking points that are the same in every one of the movies. It disappoints me that creative freedom is so controlled. It is also a disappointment that the developers only explored a small amount of locations in the Star Wars universe.

The controls are pretty good. There are some issues with trying to lock onto a particular object, but it doesn't detract from the game play much.

The visuals are outstanding. The creators really did a good job of recreating some new Star Wars locations.

One of my biggest problems that I had with the game, was the poor use of technology. Pixelux Entertainment created a program called; DMM (Digital Molecular Matter). Basically, it helps objects and materials react as they would in real life. It is an amazing technology, but is rarely used well in the game.

Overall I think the game is good. It is fun to play. I just think that with a little more development, it could have been an awesome game.
