Book was bad, movie was worse
The writing was horrible, the acting was beyond bad. There is absolutely no reason to buy or see this movie.
I went to school with some of the guys the in the book, so out of curiosity I bought the book...BAD BOOK, but sort of interseting given a personal connection. Then I heard there was a movie, so I figured I would buy the movie for the same reason, but after removing my small connection (four guys, I kind of know, robbing stores in Ottawa, Canada) I am saddened for having wasted $2 on the film. That's right, I really feel believe I wasted $2. With this in mind, I want to make sure that I am the final victim in the Champagne gangs crime spree.
Sure it was a super low budget crap movie, but if you are making a movie with "hot" girls as criminals, find some hot girls, or get some OK looking girls who can act. Hiring ugly women to play outside of their physical comfort zone and then asking them to speak (clearly a new challenge for at least 3 of the girls) well, the end result can only be a train wreck.
The scenes in the bars were beyong laughable (one "hot" club had 3 extras in it, so that makes 7 people with the films leads included, way to splurge), and every once and a while out of left field there was some playful lesbian joking, all of it horribly forced and awkward. This in particular was so hard to watch. Hoping for nudity? Forget it. These are serious actors. Here's a piece of advice for the serious actors, if you are going to wear a bathing suit in a $2 movie, be perpared to take it off.
God this was a bad movie.
I don't know what else to say, it isn't even funny bad, it is just bad.
I will close with this. There are some scenes where it literally defies logic that the director didn't stop production after a take and throw the film in the ocean. The rythm, the chemistry, whatever between the actors was SO BAD, I don't know how anyone behind a camera allowed themselves to be involved with this. The food service staff should kill themselves out of shame. It was that bad. I refuse to believe they didn't know, like Camera man - "man that take was the worst." Director - "I don't care print it. I live in my car"

The Champagne Gang : Bikini Babes
I bought this movie, because a friend thought it might be good. He was right. The 4 thieves are realistic, even if a bit crazy at times. It shows their weaknesses, as well as their strengths. It is believable. You can see why the girls have become, and remain, friends. I would recommend this movie, for some light watching. Not something I would watch over and over, but well worth watching on a once-in-awhile basis.Lire l'avis complet...
