Great Features - Blocks Private/Blocked Calls

We also have used this phone since they first were introduced with Ameritech. They have MANY features. But the one I like the best is that this phone will BLOCK private/blocked calls and send them to a seperate answering message, telling them you do NOT accept blocked calls!! It detects and does this on the FIRST ring!! No more private/blocked harrassing calls!!!!

The only drawback so far is that we have had two phones die on us, but I'm ready to order a third.Lire l'avis complet...

Great phone - Many features

This phone has been around for quite a few years and still meets the needs of today's land line users. I bought this one to replace a previous one that got zapped by a voltage surge from a downed power line. Best phone I've ever owned.

This is by far the best phone I've ever owned. I bought my first one 12 or 13 years ago and STILL has more USEFUL features than any phone on the market today. Features I like the most are 'Call Announce' where it verbally says outloud the name and/or number calling. It also shows in the caller ID display who called AND if they left a message. No need to listen to EVERY message just to hear the ones you want with this phone.

The only thing I wish this phone had that most phones these days have is built-in wireless. Easy enough to get around that though by simply buying some wireless handsets.

Nortel Meridian 9516 Phone

Have used this phone since they first were introduced with Ameritech. It is a fantastic phone and very easy to use. We run a small business and my husband doesn't have time to look up numbers so his 5 most important numbers are saved in the memory keys with dialing as quick as pushing the key. All the other numbers that we ever use are saved in the directory for quick look-up and imediate dailing once the number is found. He can even be on the phone and able to go into the directory and get a saved number without hanging the phone up. That;s been really useful when he needs me to call somewhere and it is a number we have stored. My husbands's hearing is not as good as it use to be and the receiver has volume bar to increase the sound. I am guessing we have had this phone for at least 10 years and it's finally quit on us. This phone has been thru alot being in a repair shop and dirt & grease is everywhere. I am surprised it lasted this long! I am even more pleased that I am able to find one. My experience with these phones is only very positive and that is my story

These are very reliable and functional phones. I've had 3 for over 20 years and 2 were struck by lightening. I love the call announce feature and the ability to leave personalized greetings. The speaker phone feature is very clear on both ends. I understand Nortel is now bankrupt so I managed to locate and purchase 3 new phones and 2 used ones in hopes of having a working phone until I no longer need a phone.Lire l'avis complet...

Nortel Networks Meridian 9516

Possibly the worlds greatest phone...does everything you might want a phone to do and the best is the personal announcements tailored for everyone you know who calls you...like: "Hey mom, pick up the phone, it's your daughter!!" or whatever else you want it to say.

We had a 9516 for more than a decade and couldn't find a new one on the current market that can match its capabilities so we finally found a used one on eBay!! Get one used or refurbished, but get one!!Lire l'avis complet...

Awesome Phone

I introduced myself to this phone with a purchase many years ago and I must say I was impressed with it right off, this phone gives you the option to setup multiple mailboxes. When somebody calls my business line now it gives them options such as pressing 1 for sales or pressing 2 for Billing and even 0 for the operator which makes the phone ring through to me. Great Phone

This is an excellent telephone with excellent features. Though it is an older model, it still lives up to the Nortel name.
