Rough beginning but still fun!

I have played every game in this series. I started with two and continue from there. I've always wanted to have the first one but whenever the opportunity arose that copy was always in very poor condition. It's someplace great and yes of course you can tell it's the first in the series. handsome big ambitions for this game trying to make it open world with so many different things to do in vehicles to have fun with. shooting isn't always accurate and the controls can feel a little finicky every now and then but if you're a fan of this series I highly recommend this it's still a ton of fun to blow crap up!Lire l'avis complet...

Just Cause is a title worth checking out

Graphics: Above Average - 4/5
The backdrop and setting is gorgeous, though there are some rendering issues with things just appearing, though it is nice!

Gameplay: Above Average - 4/5
Taking wide open world gameplay to a whole new level with stunts, fast paced action, and new ways to explore the world.

Sound: Average – 4/5
Sound effects are good, and with a nice surround sound, the jungle sounds amazing.

Replay Value: Above Average - 4/5
Fun fast paced game that has side missions and a huge world to explore.

OVERALL Average: 15/20 = 4/5
This game is going to be one that will be worth picking up huge, open world games are your preference.

Overview:
The backgrounds, the environments, the sounds, and the smoothness of this game make this part amazing. The detail to the jungle and things that would be found in this environment is not left out. The XBOX 360 does a great job of rendering these environments without a skip in the game. You will see some sudden pop-ups in cars, trees, and beaches, when flying around from the air, which can take you out of the game at times, but I guess it is acceptable in a game this big. This game has a lot going on that really boosts the visual appeal. The main character, Rico, and the enemies he fights are not as fluid as the backdrops, but the movements and response are fairly well done.

This game is huge. The island is 390 square miles, which makes it one of the biggest wide open exploration games out yet. The best part about the size of the island is that if your character can see it, there is a way to get there to explore that part of the island. With use of a grappling hook and parachute, Rico can project himself all over the island, throwing himself way up to get to the action. Though this is an awesome twist, it can be very difficult to control. Landing on the right vehicles can be troublesome and tiresome. Targeting the vehicles too can cause misdirection, flinging Rico to a car that you don’t want to latch onto. The blurring effects when falling to earth and flying car to car make you feel as if the speed was real and you were in the game.

There are a full magnitude of weapons to use, and the gun fights are fun, though it appears Rico is indestructible at times when he can take 5 clips to the head, where on shot will kill some enemies. This gun action leads to some awesome explosion effects and stunt moves that make the game easy to get into. The game plays relatively easy, and the difficulty is the same. This is a good action game with some fast paced play. This one is worth checking out.

Just Cause

Many will think Just Cause is essentially a combination of Far Cry and Grand Theft Auto and in some ways it is, but the game goes out and has an identity of its own by giving our hero some impressive skills that haven’t been seen in games up to this point. The game also features a decent amount to do to go along with some impressive graphics and solid audio. The problem for the game though is it’s just not enjoyable enough. The early excitement quickly bores, add to that the relatively easy nature of the game and the repetitiveness in general and it results in the fact that Just Cause just doesn’t cut it. The game struggles from the fact that nothing is exciting enough for this to be anything more than a rental.

GAMEPLAY: 6.9
The missions and stunt abilities are too repetitive to keep the game interesting.

GAMEPLAY: 8
The jungle, small towns and other details are beautifully done, but the game lacks polish.

SOUND: 7.3
The Latino music fits the style of the game, but the dialogue is mediocre at best.

FUN FACTOR: 6.8
Just Cause is enjoyable for a little while, but won’t keep your interest for the long haul.

REPLAY VALUE: 6.1
If you can create your own fun then there is some replay value, otherwise not...

TOTAL SCORE: 7

Just Cause - Just because it's fun

No doubt eBay's review section is not the first place a real gamer checks first for a review, and if you have checked the mainstream reviews they range from 6-9 out of a possible 10.

I give this game about a 7.4 out of 10, and here's why:

The Good:

Complete Free Roam of an Island with a trusty parachute you can deploy at almost anytime, a sweet grappling hook used to launch yourself up in a "parasailing" sort of way on your parachute, and the awesome Free Fall/ Sky diving intro and ability to sky dive at will in the game. Basically anything to do with using your parachute is AWESOME in this game!!!

The Bad:

The MIssions - The side missions are the worst in any game ever. The game boasts about 300+ side missions and you8 need to do them to get upgraded weapons, but really it comes down to about 4 or 5 types of side mission you just have to repeat about 60 times each. I mean how many barricades do you really need to blow up with a grenade to get the point?!?!?!
The Story Missions honestly in my opinion are not much better than the side missions. While the plot seems cool and "fresh", the missions fail to deliver enough excitement for me. it's your simple run and gun type missions

Another "Bad" quality is the police/military heat/wanted level. The game is very unforgiving when you "break the law" and will perse you to the ends of the whole island system of the game, how ever the AI couldn't hoit a barn with their guns, so dying isn't a problem, just an annoyance.

The UGLY:

THE SIDE MISSIONS!!!
The wasteland that is your game map. There simply is not enough going on between settlements and populated areas. It actually gets quite boring. Thank God for your parachute, otherwise the game would be unplayable.

BOTTOM LINE:

Buy this game if you want hours of endless PARACHUTE fun, but don't expect hours of awesome storyline and cool missions. The game just doesn't deliver.

One more time.... PARACHUTE... Thats why this game get a "good" rating instead of AWFUL....

Commute. No Carpool lane.

Commuting. A lot of commuting.

If you enjoy the commute, you will enjoy Just Cause.
The map is large and target areas on the map are mere approximations. I spent a lot of time going from one place to another by boat, airplane, helicopter, motorcycle and god forbid if you land somewhere in the middle the jungle then its continent-travel by foot. Extraction is limited, only designated to unlocked areas acquired from completed missions and the miscellaneous side missions.

Several things I didnt like. 1. Wanted level needs work, I restarted two games because my wanted level froze at wanted level 5. When that wanted level locked; I was public enemy number one and I mean everything and everyone that held weapons of any kind were shooting, missile launching, grenading all at me, including my own guys. Wanted level takes too long to wait out, even in a safehouse, around 5 to 10 minutes of waiting in a safehouse. Its easier to get killed and restart. Sucked to lose some good weapons on restart but waiting in a safehouse would take too long. The wanted level is more of an annoyance not a challange. Easier to fly commute than drive because any accidental collision will activate the wanted level and then its a snow ball effect to level 5 .. not one offensive shot needs to be fired because more accidental collisions with pursuing police raises the level. Its better to fly commute. Helicopters are easier to use, slow but reusable. One-use planes can take off but tend to explode when landing.

Another thing, the enemy and traffic spawning, the road looked clear for 10 feet ahead and bing! Something or someone will magically appear especially if your wanted level is high.

2. The safehouse garage is pointless, finding vehicles and storing them once, at least allow whatever is stored to be respawned. Most vehicles damage easy and eventually explode. A few vehicles are tough but are part of the story mission and disappear after the mission is completed, even when I took one bullet proof limo to a garage.

I completed all the side missions first as the game suggested and then I started on the game story line, I was surprised that the side missions took longer than the actual story line, I completed the complete game story in one Saturday afternoon.

Everything else was alright, graphics, sound, people and so forth.
I just didnt care for the commuting to and fro. I guess I enjoyed all the missions, which have one primary goal - blow stuff up. That I liked, my suggestion: get the attack helicopter called Hammerhead, its somewhere on the map as a free pickup, its somewhere in the middle and at a few unlocked safehouses. Many people are comparing this game to GTA and in my opinion this game is another form of an "open sandbox" game like Crackdown, but its not a GTA.

This is an interesting game, there are a lot of things that I liked and disliked but overall I think if you could buy this game inexpensively, you might like it. I wasnt too sure when I first played it but it was entertaining enough to complete all game achievements. I would say - good.

Just Cause Review

This is a great game. It offers many different types of vehicles. The map is HUGE, and many of the places are beautiful. One of my favorite features was jumping of clifs or hellicopters with a parachute. You actually get the feeling that you are falling towards the ground.
The graphic is good and so is the dynamic.
The weapons choice is fair, and a cool feature is using a grappling gun on cars or hellicopters and beeing pulled while hanging in your parachute.

All in all I´d say this is a pretty good game, but I think the in game story could be a little longer. I therfore decide to give it a 7 of 10 points.

A Very, Very, Very large Free Roam third-person game

Me my self don't like free Roam game's, But this Game I decided to Give a Try.
out of a 1-10 I give it a 6

If you like game's that you can explore and free roam, this would be the game.
<br>I have played all the GTA's, and hated them, they were boring, but this game is something that even I could get into.

The biggest down fall is all the other games that have come out since this, is much better, But that is how it should be. :)

This third-person action game with some outrageous action that will require an extra helping of that suspension of disbelief to be able to enjoy. Example: "man hanging onto the tail of a flying jet with one hand"

Base Jumping!!!

Pros
+ Beatiful landscapes & gorgeous visuals.
+ Base jumping & parachute stunts.
+ Nice explosions & some fun chase sequences.

Cons
- Not as much detail in people as there is in the environments.
- Long, repetitive side missions.
- Not much to do in this massive world & not much variety.
- Weapons run out of ammo very quickly.

Comments
Just Cause is a true GTA-clone thrown into a large, almost lifeless at times world. There is so much space to cover and if you ever lose your car it will be a long walk to find another. Your parachute will come in handy as you travel. It will save your life more than once. Missions often feel repetitive and there is not much to do besides missions.

Verdict
Rental at the most unless you just love GTA-type games more than anything else. 3.5/5

Decent Game

It is a decent game that is a lot of fun at times. The game takes place on a collection of tropical islands named San Esperito, which is just plain GIGANTIC! The landscapes are beautiful and you can explore by land, air, or sea....hours worth of exploration. There are some fairly decent weapons, pretty standard stuff for an action game. There are countless side missions in addition to the main mission ranging from liberating villages to executing enemies. The downfall is that while the main missions vary somewhat, the side missions quickly become infinitely repetitive. I picked this game up really cheap and overall I definitely feel that I got my money's worth.Lire l'avis complet...
