Great Case!!

It's better then a cardboard box, or a plastic sleeve like the old day's. This holds the game perfectly, clips in, and the booklet and maps and magic card fit perfectly also. I'm a collector of vintage games, preferably like to have the original of everything that goes with the game's. Not now though. I will be buying both final Fantasy cases also. As I'm in need for them, and others. Great job, nice work, love the new box. Will buy more soon.Lire l'avis complet...

If you can play these, do.

I cut my teeth on these as a young gamer. Totally happy to see the series continuing. These games are a treasure and an important piece of gaming history. Games like this, Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star, Legend of Zelda, etc., they all helped build the foundation of the modern RPG.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Classic RPG

Dragon Warrior is a great NES RPG, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes RPGs.

Compared to today’s games, Dragon Warrior is very simple; you roam around the world map gaining experience, and earning gold to buy new weapons and armor. You will also have to enter dungeons, which is when the strong armor and weapons come in handy. All of the battles are turn based and are generally fun but can sometimes get annoying and repetitive. The in-battle graphics are surprisingly good; the enemies are very well animated. The world is actually fun to explore and the story is interesting. I also think that the music is fairly good as well. The only thing that I found to be extremely annoying about this game is that whenever you wanted to talk to someone or go down a flight of stairs, you have to press A and then select “talk” from a menu which was kind of a pain. Other than that, Dragon Warrior is an excellent, classic RPG.

Pros:
- Great classic RPG.

Cons:
- Can get repetitive.

One of the key early entries in the Glorantha library

This is one of the key, early products with details on Glorantha. If you're like me and love the early stuff, you'll enjoy this one. Sure, it's all covered in the mega two-volume set that was recently released, but these early products have their own charm. Plus, I don't risk pulling a muscle every time I take it off the shelf! Worth having for the Glorantha fan (along with its companion volume, Cults of Prax).Lire l'avis complet...

Get this game!

Wow, where do I start?
First of all I believe this is the best Dragon Warrior on the nes. The other Dw's in my opinon have too many characters to look after. You and only you are against everyone in this version. I saw a review about too many leveling ups. Common now that's one of the best parts of this game. You have to kill and kill and kill somemore before you become elite. This game is awesome, in my opinion the best RPG on the nes. The graphics are tite and old school. Even the cover on the game features A knight battling against a dragon in a epic art piece. You can change the message speed to fast so the game breezes by and unlike other boring nes rpgs you have to use skill to get treasure chests. Sometimes you have to put that wyveryn to sleep to keep attacking and sometimes it'll wake up and kill you :) The music is sweet especially in the dungeons. I love saving up the gold you get and you'll need every piece to buy enough weapons and armour to keep you alive. I've beat this game years ago and even today I want to keep playing and play you will. Don't be surprised if you miss a few days of work because this game is more addicting that smoking. Buy this game now while it's still cheap before others realize this is the best one of all the dragon warriors.Lire l'avis complet...

Classic game, finicky saving.

A great game. Very challenging. Be VERY careful to hold reset when powering down. I lost my game because I did not do that.

Dragon Warrior (NES)

This is one of the first RPG's ever, and laid the groundwork for what we see in terms of RPG's today. In fact, even the first Final Fantasy game sought to emulate the gameplay in Dragon Warrior to an extent.

Originally called Dragon Quest in Japan, this game spawned a series of games that are still successful to this day (Dragon Quest VIII is one of the best RPG's I've ever played.) The artwork is done by Akira Toriyama of Dragonball fame, but truth be told you probably wouldn't be able to tell by looking at it. Originally the game would come with a poster showing you all the enemies, but you'd be lucky to find that nowadays.

Anyway, the game was great when it came out, but the gameplay, graphics, and sound are dated beyond belief. Personally, I still think this game is awesome because of the writing (everyone doth speaketh like they were in a Shakespearian play), but you may become irritated when you have to bring up a menu and select "STAIRS" to walk up and down stairs, whereas in most games you just have to walk onto them.

In fact, short of fighting enemies, you have to bring up a menu to do just about ANYthing in this game. When you face an NPC, you bring up a menu and select "TALK," and when you want to go through a door you bring up a menu and select "DOOR." This may sound like a pain, but you get used to it.

Aside from other minor complaints, this game is still very enjoyable today and I recommend it. It's a classic role-playing game of dungeon-crawling, casting spells, upgrading equipment, leveling up, and so on. If you're into that sort of experience, or if you're an NES game collector, then this game is for you.
