Excellent reciever with tons of power!

I already had the HTR 5640 6.1 reciever in the living room to go with my DLP projector. I needed one for the bedroom. The seller had this one going for $50(buy it now). This was an incredible deal. The 5630 is the baby sister of the 5640. Slightly smaller and 5.1 instead of 6.1. Other than that this unit has the same look and features. Of course all the sound enviroment choices are identical and the remote is the same. Both are two of the best receivers I have ever used. Both have seperate amplifiers for each of the 5.1 channels so the sound seperation is top notch and the clarity and the power is amazing. I am sure Yamaha makes some of the best home theater recievers in the world, and of the main manufacturers like Pioneer and Denon, I feel yamaha blows them away. There are recievers that are audiophile for over $1500 that are certainly better, but for the low price these yamaha receivers and very impressive.Lire l'avis complet...

Reset the speaker menu setting

Well, after I researched the web to find out why the rear speakers did not work, and reset the speaker menu item it works fine.

Very satisfied

Good older recievers are hard to find these days, and I was lucky enough to find one that was taken care of well. Very well-built unit and clean. Wish it came with a remote though, but I]ll get one from eBay when I have some money. I did a search on eBay and they do have the remote for my main unitLire l'avis complet...

would recomend this for anyone starting out in HT match with good speakers

used as a secondary source for outside and a second AV setup. very balanced sound, enough power for smaller room. flexible controls wide range of DSP modes not overdone.

Excellnt sound

Had one for a long time ,but it died and always wanted anothe Excellent sound,but not enogh digial jacks.for the money a good reciever,I wish I had another.
