Super Mario DS

When I was a kid, I had my NES and I was satisfied. I didn't even know what an N64 was until I found it wrapped under the tree one year for Christmas. I've been in love with Mario and his pals ever since. This game brings back fuzzy feelings of turning on the console and seeing 3D Mario for the first time. There is even a throwback to the grab-face features on the original game.

The best part about the game is the ability to rediscover the worlds as Luigi, Wario, or Yoshi. Their unique abilities bring a whole new element to this classic game, and some new Stars can only be achieved with their talents.

This game would have been fabulous as a re-release or sequel on the Gamecube as originally intended. However, trying to feature a game known for its incredible use of the revolutionary analog stick and forcing onto a handheld device with a directional pad as its main source of movement, and you are bound to encounter problems. Nintendo tried to solve this problem by allowing you to run by means of the touch pad, but it can be clumsy and difficult to see where you are going or control your speed.

There is a lot more to love in this game than there is to hate, but something as crucial as character control can make a huge impact on your gaming experience. If you're looking for a nostalgic throwback, I certainly recommend this game. However, if you aren't already familiar with the controls, maps, and objectives, I'd suggest playing your way through the original on an original N64, or on the Wii Virtual Console.

Super Mario 64 DS is a remake from the N64 Super Mario 64 with some new changes. One of the new things is you can control Mario with the touch screen or the control pad. Second is that you can play as Mario, Luigi, Wario, as you rescue Princess Peach. Third is you can open up great mini games by catching rabbits, some of the mini games are more fun than the main game that gives you more hours of enjoyment. The main game is the same as the N64 version the graphics look better and the control is better then the N64 version. This is a great game to have for the DS; some of the mini games really show off the power of the DS. I recommend this game for your library; this gives you your Mario fix till the new Mario Bros game comes out later this year.

Nintendo 64 re-make for the Nintendo DS

The main game is the same as the N64 version, however the graphics and control are a bit better on the DS. This is a great game to have for the DS. Some of the mini games especially show off the power of DS. I recommend this game for your Nintendo DS library, as it gives you your Mario fix until the new Mario Bros. game comes out.

Loved these games, happy with the purchase..

With some known games, there are lots of good small games that I would never buy because of how expensive every Nintendo game is, plus it is very handy to have only one chip instead of several with less games..

Sound and video quality is almost same as original Nintendo games, reaction time with keys is also as aspected..Lire l'avis complet...

Very challenging gaming experience!

This mario game is super challenging. Alot of the stages feature instant death if fall off the screen. What I mean by that is you have to have really great manuver using the control pad in guiding mario properly, but once you fall off the platform, you have to start over the same painting you previously jumped in. For some people, it can be very frustrating and you may stop trying to conquer the painting you once jumped into. Also here's another challenge, for every painting you jump in, you must know exactly what to do when looking for power stars. That includes in figuring out the puzzles in every painting. That also can be frustrating as well because you have to have the skills in solving in finding every power stars for each painting. For Alot of people it can lead to giving up on playing the game because it's too difficult if you don't have the knowledge in solving puzzles. Used DS Games

A word of caution when buying a used DS or maybe even another machine game. When you anticipate buying a used game cartridge, make sure that you check before you buy that you can reset the cartridge back to a new status. If not, your child will find that the game has already gone through most of the stages eliminating the high score and progress that your child wants to accomplish for themselves and not what someone else has done. Luckily, I was able to find the instructions for this one on how to reset it to "new" condition on the internet, as it was not in the manual. Just a word to the wise. a classic mario re-made.

as we all know super mario 64 for the nintendo 64 is one of the greatest platformers of all time. it was the 1st game to use a joystick controll and moveable cameras. and truly revolutionized the platforming industry.
now you can take it with you anywhere! and there is also 30 more stars this time around. so in all there is 150 stars. which by the way , is no easy accomplishment. i have gotten 134 stars and it has taken forveer , but is well wort hit!
and a thing i love about this is that they have no implemented 4 other characters into the action. so in some areas this game is easier, since in the original you might have to do a wal kick to backflip to jump onto a certain ledge. well now they have specail pwoerups for certain charaters. so now you can just use wario on that same ledge and just float up to the top. this makes the game more accesible to deifferent ages.
the graphics are great, really setting standards for DS games. and it really does use the bottom screen well.
i recomend this game to any nintendo fan, DS fan, or anyone new to this system.
overall this game gets a 9.75/10 in my book :)

Super Mario 64 (Nintendo DS)

Like: The game play is almost exactly like the Nintendo 64 version. Graphics are pretty good for the little hand held game boy.

Dislike: The controls on there don't cooperate well. If it had a joystick adapter then it would work better. When you try to make Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, Wario try and make a quick right or left turn, they stop.

I bought this game because I loved the game for the nintendo 64. I would have downloaded it to my Wii, but wanted it to go along with me wherever i go.Lire l'avis complet...

Super Mario 64 for the DS is a Good choice

Likes: Its a mario game so it's still going to be fun to play.
You can play as multiple characters which is a nice add-on from the original
Yoshi can throw eggs which was a nice surprise
I really liked how the castle doors lead me to different rooms than I thought the would
The Mini games - if you like Mario Mini games then this is a must, so must fun

Dislikes: The controls are pretty much the only think I hated about this game, the did not have very good respose, it will take some time to get used to it. But once you look beyond the controls you will enjoy the game.Lire l'avis complet...
