The Land Before Time

The wonderful thing about this film is that it honestly is suitable for the entire family. This is common to hear about flims, animated ones in particular, but honestly, this movie is great. On the kid-level, you have dinosaurs, action, and well-intending heroes that rely on teamwork and overcoming personal differences. It contains quality messages. On a slightly more mature level, you have the artfully rendered scenes--the beautiful animation, the talented voice-actors, and the coming-of-age pitfalls of loss, of experience--of growing out of that inborn selfishness that everyone starts out with and learning to rely on others, and having the capacity to be relied on in return. One of my favorites

I was cleaning out my house and came across rubber puppets from this movie. My older daughter said I should get rid of them, but something stopped me. I saved them for my 2 year old grandson, to see if he liked them. He did. Before he came over I noticed this movie was playing on demand and I played it for him. I wasn't sure if he would get it or was too young. I am sure he didn't get the goal of this movie, but he loved the characters and their interaction. He lined all the puppets up in front of the TV and would point to them when they appeared. Needless to say I purchased the movie so he could watch it when he comes to grammy's house.

This is a great movie for kids. The characters are adorable. My own kids went around saying "yup, yup, yup" for weeks after seeing it. I liked it too.Lire l'avis complet...

For inquisitive individual, it is the beginning of an adventure

Purchased as a great grandmother to learn along with the two years old, about dinosaurs and their environment . I purchased the remaining set and enjoyed the whole set. After viewing all of the episodes , I then went back to once agin get familiar with the first beginnings.
I felt that this DVD was excellent but I really needed the remaining ones to complete the experience.
We are also enjoying PBS dinosaurs train as an added bit of knowledge. When I grew up, in the 1940s we knew of dinosaurs but they were never explored In depth. Now I am enjoying learning about these creatures and the times they lived .Lire l'avis complet...

The Land Before Time (DVD, Anniversary Edition)

Land Before Time starts of with a mother, grandpa, and grandma dinosaur waiting for their egg to hatch. When it does hatch, they're really excited. They then name it Littlefoot. But later on, Littlefoot's mother is killed by a dinosaur and then has to live with his grandma and grandpa. But, their valley is running low on food. So Littlefoot sets off on a journey to find a new valley with food. On the way, he meets Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike. This is one of the best movies you'll ever want to see with your kids. I love the Anniversary Edition of Land Before Time..It's wonderful!! :)

My son grew up with Land Before Time. I loved all the movies myself, & it was great to see a Anniversary Edition. I bought this orrig for my son, BUT chose to hold on to it till he gets his own place & can pass down to his kids. These movies were wonderful for younger kids. And BIG kids like myself also..:) Glad i was able to purchase it..we even named 1 of our dearest pets "Littlefoot" years ago..:)Lire l'avis complet...

The Land Before Time

Great movie for little ones who are particularly interested in Dinosaurs. A heart warming storyline, using of all things dinosaurs to portray love of family, warm parenting practices, friendship, and resiliency, just to name a few. My two year old son appreciates watching the birth of dinosaur life, the bonds between dinosaur parents and offspring, as well as the realistic portrayal of interactions between the Carnosaurs and Sauropods.Lire l'avis complet...

The Land Before Time (DVD, 2003, Anniversary Edition)

A great, well-told story. Timeless, as kids of any generation never tire of dinosaurs.

Technical presentation of the film very disappointing. Film only presented in "Full Screen" and does not appear to have been restored in any way for the release on DVD format. There were no "Extras" of any value for the older fans of this film.

I purchased this release to replace our worn-out VHS copy of the film; the DVD format is not much better. Our kids do enjoy watching, but I hope to see it as originally intended in "Widescreen", restored for Blu Ray format. The success of this movie franchise warrants revisiting the original movie for another release.Lire l'avis complet...
