While all the creaturs are heading south to the warmer area and to beat the blizzard & frost, one stubborn mammoth is going the opposite way away from all the annoying mamals and deciding not to follow the crowd.Along the way Manfred "Manny" the mammoth runs into Sid the sloth and helps him from being attacked by 2 large rhinos.Upon saving him, Sid tags along with Manny.When Sid & Manny come upon a woman & baby in the freezing river and help save her baby, but when they trun around she is gone.They decide to take the human baby back to it's tribe, but run into trouble when Diego the Sabbertooth tiger is trying to take the baby away to his herd.Not trusting Diego they all go together and hope to make it to Glacier Pass before the blizzard closes the path.Along their trip this odd group becomes very good friends.

Nice Age.

While the animation is not as strong as say, "Monsters Inc" or "Toy Story", the story is just as good.
Voice overs from Dennis Leary, Ray Romano, and John Leguizamo are very good.
There is enough adult humor to keep the parents chuckling, while the aspects of the movie remain in the child realm.
The DVD also has nice bonus features, but the games are a bit lame.

A Movie For All Age Groups

I had seen this movie before and felt that it had to be in my collection. I am a Grandmother who watches movies with very young grandchildren and find it something we can appreciate together. Not all of us need the hyped up version of life just to make money for others. Some of us just enjoy a story that offers a soft background to the sometimes hardness that life deals out. Yes, some people die. And isn't that hard enough for children to deal with without the blunt, coarse, hardcore pictures that most films spell out? The message in the movie will last in a child's mind even if they don't understand it all at the time and that is one of the best values of the picture. The characters are cute, loveable, and not as frightening as in some movies. Their purpose, I feel, is to help children adjust to life with all of its goodness and dangers and it does an excellent job.Lire l'avis complet...

My 4-year Old and I Enjoyed This Several Times

I have watched this with my 4-year old granddaughter several times and we both enjoyed it. There is some minor bathroom humor, but overall a good story.

Clean Fun In A Hilarious Animated Film

In my not-so-humble opinion, this animated full-length feature is one of the most hilarious movies to ever hit the screen. Although its target audience was originally children of a certain age group, it was a hit with members of my extended family from ages 2 all the way up to grandma and grandpa. It's what I call a "clean" film, with no objectionable language or scenes, and I wouldn't hesitate to play this movie for my pastor's kids. Matter of fact, the pastor and his wife would probably get a big kick out of it, too. I think the grown-ups may have enjoyed this movie more than the kids, possibly because much of the humor is aimed at adult audiences. There are also some morals to the story, but they have been so artfully integrated into the story line and presented in such a tasteful manner that you don't even realize it until long after the movie's over. This movie is the toy story of animated movies!

I loved this movie to death! I watched it alot of times as a kid and looking at it now, it still looks good! 10/10!

Ice Age

This movie was a Christmas present for my dad actually.
The grandkids love to watch this movie and it got taken home by one of the 5. Had to replace it!! I think it was one of my kids to took it for the long drive home.

It is a funny movie! Ray R, Dennis L and John L did a great job. It's easy to watch, the plot is simple and there is no killing. Scrat is pretty cute too.Lire l'avis complet...

Ice Age is a Family Movie Worth Watching

I got this for my grandkids (3 & 6) and they love it. I bet we have watched it (together) a least a dozen tinmes. We love Scrat, the sabre-toothed squirrel, who has a penchant for getting into trouble. The other characters are great, too and you end up knowing each one by name in no time.
I bought Ice Age after getting the second one (Ice Age: The Meltdown). It is terrific also. I can't wait for Ice Age III (Age of Dinosaurs) that will be released in the summer of 2009.Lire l'avis complet...

The First Ice Age experience

This DVD set comes highly recommended. Of course the story is very funny and the graphics are amazing. Our 2 year old son LOVES this movie. It is the original movie where the main characters Manny (the Mammoth), Sid (the Sloth) and Diego (the Sabertooth Tiger) are introduced and meet each other as they try to return a human baby to his herd.
If you want watch the newer movies in this fantastic series, "Ice Age2, the Meltdown" and "Ice Age: the Dawn of the Dinosaurs" this is a must see, to learn about the main characters and to get some of the inside jokes in those following movies.
This movie has become an instant classic for animated movies and it is entertaining for young AND old.
The good thing about this particular DVD set is that it comes with both wide screen and full frame version for those of you who don't have a Widescreen TV in every room yet, like me.Lire l'avis complet...
