An old favorite in a modern format!

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire "V" series when it was originally presented on TV and now, this set, along with two other "V" packages I purchased gives me the chance to revisit this brain candy whenever I like. I think that the reason I enjoy this series so much, despite the penchant for overacting displayed by a couple of the principal characters, is because I really enjoyed the overall plot that seemed to be an updated serialization of the classic Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man!" a classic

this is a fun, "go back in time", as far as special affects, series..it was so far advanced when made, but today i realize how old I"VE gotten just watching how simple it really is put together compared to today's special affects. i am enjoying watching it to see again, after all these years, how it turned out, i have forgotten how it ends..it is a trip back in MY TIME and am glad i got it...sometimes it is great to just travel back into the beginning of REAL technology in special affects, just to help us appreciate how far the industry has come to entertain us...it is clean, no cussing,nudity, etc. truly a fun watch for any family...or like me, just turning back the clock and enjoying good clean movies again....Lire l'avis complet...

The invasion continues

This is what occurred after the visitors were driven away. Except for the captured mother ship, all others hid behind the moon abd waited. Of course, Diana has escaped to plan another assault. She does find a weakness in the protective bacterial sield so as to begin anew. So it starts again. Interesting turn of events make it interesting, but for someone wanting to incorporate human aspects here and their in the visitors. Not as great as I remember.

I was obsessed with these lizard people when I was a child, so figured I would purchase this series. It brought back some fond memories, but it was quite corny with horrible special effects, even for 80's standards.Lire l'avis complet...

Good sci-fi

Based on two mini series, the TV series naturally had a smaller budget and it does show, but, at the time it utilized cutting edge technology and special effects. There were several things that were change, from the minis and the series, probably due to budget restraints, that were not explained. One of the most glaring changes ws that in the mini series, the Visitors has a strange sibilance in their voices, that just disappeared in the series. Vintage original V the TV series little corny

V TV series from circa 1985. Special effects are amateurish. Women and men from big hair era. Kind of like a B movie for action. However the characters are engaging. Drama is sufficient to keep you interested. Women are attractive. Knock out the phony sci-fi, and poor special effects, this series could stand on its own as a drama, with better direction. Acting is plausable. Plots can be corny, but that is what TV was like in the 80's. For less than $10, for the entire season, cheaper than renting DVDs.

I bought it for a bit of history regarding the current V TV show, on how it all got started. Little nostalgia on understanding the plot and characters. Think current TV show is much cooler. But this may be worth a look for any fans of the V TV show.Lire l'avis complet...

Classic '80s Movie

I remeber watching this movie as a kid, so did my wife. So we got it to show to our kids. They liked it, but of course it does not compare to the great graphics of today. They even thought you could see strings on some of the space ship scenes. But it is a must have for any '80s sci-fi nut. It has some decent actors in it, Michael Ironside, and Robert England. The plot is okay but you have to remeber one thing it is an '80s sci-fi, Buck Rodgers era you will remember if you are old enough.Lire l'avis complet...

this 3 disc-set jumps around there is a lot missing and and what was there in the set is about only two third of what was aired on tv not complete as stated but still a fair set to watch....
