Give a 2nd life to an old PC

This is actually the second HDD with which I am replacing the original 70GB disk that came with my Dell XPS M1210 laptop in use since 2006. Having all the electronics and screen working, well the original disk was replaced some years ago with a 500GB SATA 7200 rpm HDD which gave its life a year ago. I replaced the XPS with a new Dell however this one started failing some months ago so I decided to put the old XPS back into service while the new one is being repaired or replaced from the factory. Installing the SSD HDD is very easy, just unscrew the HDD cradle from the PC, remove the old unit and put the new one in place. Install the cradle back into the HDD bay and adjust the screws again. Everything fits perfectly. Then reinstall your operating system back from the original disks and ready. Replacing the unit took no more than 5 minutes, reinstalling Windows around 20 minutes and then restore the software backups. It feels faster, no noise at all and the startup is way faster than that of the new laptop which runs on Windows as well.Lire l'avis complet...
