Great little tool!
Great tool. I've been looking for an economical router bit setting tool for quite some time. This little tool is perfect. It can not only be used to measure cuts already made and then setting the router to .001 increments for the finish cut, it can be used to set the fence on the router table with great accuracy. The base is made of sturdy plastic with reinforced edges. The plunger is also plastic with a flat and pointed steel interchangeable tips.
The readout quality and accuracy equals that of brand name digital calipers. It would have been nice if it came in a highly polished felt lined mahogany box, but for the price, I'll make a nice little box for it myself. Almost forgot, it can be zeroed at any point and will read + in one direction of travel and - in the other. You can choose between the readout showing inches, millimeters or fractions down to 1/64.
As with any precision measuring instrument it should be handled with care and kept clean. It's not designed to be a hammer or prybar and shouldn't be treated as such.

Descent, but could be improved
The legs are barely wide enough to span my Bosch router table, wish they were a little wider to make accurate measurements, as that was the reason for purchase. I think the measurement is off a tiny amount. When measuring from zero to a distance and then back to "zero" I get a different reading than zero. Not sure if that's a big deal, still much closer than I could get with a tape measure or ruler. Overall, good value and it'll work for my needs. Lire l'avis complet...

Great tool at a great price.
It is a good depth/height gauge at an affordable price. The only downside is that the “feet” pads are a bit small and it has trouble standing without being held. It will never be a problem for my use but it is worth noting.

Useful and Precise
This is an exceptionally useful gauge for setting the depth on your fixed and portable router and table saw. I’ve used it for about a month and have found it very useful fine tuning router cuts .
