A solid i820 board with ISA slots, but watch out for bad capacitors
This is a good i820 board. Be wary of bad capacitors, being new does not save a board from the ravages of time. I ordered two NOS KC19+ and one had serious cap leakage.
The Intel i820 has many advantages over the venerable 440BX chipset such as UDMA4, AGP 4x, and full 133MHz FSB support. Performance of the board is as expected. Somewhere between the best 440BX boards and the awful VIA based boards, a middle ground. However, the differences in performance between most Pentium 3 boards can only be seen in synthetic benchmarks and/or are only a handful of frames off from each other. The KC19+ also features a PCI to ISA bridge allowing you to use ISA cards.
It is possible to force flash the non OEM FIC BIOS onto this OEM board despite small PCB differences. I was able to do so with no noticeable bad effects, it is still possible to revert to the HP BIOS if I do ever notice something bad.
This board will work with Tualatin processors, all you need is the appropriate adapter.
