An unique bredd
This is a cassette corder according to Sony's naming (TCM). However, it is actually based on the ever-so-famous WM-10. The new additions are flat mic on the front, a speaker on the back, a mic jack and a tape counter on the side, and a "REC" botton on the top, along with the recording capability. These additions make it about 1/5 inch thicker than a WM-10. But that is not the only sacrifice. The biggest loss is stereo-no-more. The "EAR" output is mono, so only comes with a mono/single earphone in the box. Another trivia loss, or some will say gain, is WM-10's headphone-insert-dependent power-on. The sound quality is POOR, if not horrible.
When you open it, you will find a familiar, but not the same, layout of the gears, ICB, and wiring, just like those in WM-10. So, replacing belt is a walk-in-the-park.
So, it is worth the money? It depends on what you are looking for. If you are trying to complete your collection of the SONY WM-10/20/30 family, you must have this. It is the long-missing kid in the family photo. If you are looking for a recorder to make your own mix tape to just to document some unspoken secrets, this one is not for you.Lire l'avis complet...
