Not worth the full $599 price tag, but is a quality product nevertheless
Despite been a Dyson product, the $599 full price tag just doesn't justify its functionality.
For a refurbished model at almost half the price, it is now a fairly attractive item. The water tank doesn't hold enough water for a full day of use (despite its deceiving size), and can't be refilled from the top, meaning you have to stop the machine, detached the air outlet, and lift the tank to refill it.
However despite its cumbersome setup, once it starts to run you will barely notice is there (on wind level 3 and below). You can leave the humidity level to auto and the unit will figure out when to spray the mist, based on surrounding temperature and existing humidity.
The UV sanitation is a plus for the humidifier, as I have those old style evaporative humidifier unit, which tend to get stinky the more you use them. For the Dyson one the UV light is always on, and you can see it working from the gaps of the fan detach button.
The 10 levels of wind speed can ensure the mist gets spread evenly in large houses, but the higher the level the louder it gets. For sleep use is better to leave it at level 1, which is really quiet (as advertised). The down side is you can always hear the water dripping inside the mistifier when is working, and it might annoy those with sensitive hearing.
If you live in a hard water area, is better to use distilled or purified water, as I have heard others having their room covered in white dusts from deposits within the water. So far I am using purified water, and haven't had any white dust showing up yet.
The maintenance routine is kind excessive (weekly and monthly). You have to use citric acid solution to maintain the mistifier weekly, and also wash the water tank and air outlet monthly. I figure is almost as they are trying to avoid warranty issue by laying out absurd amount of conditions for consumers to meet (as stated in the manual if you missed any of the routine it could void your warranty).
The unit has some redundancy built-in; will stop working once the water ran out, or is been tipped over. There is a 'fan mode' that can be used in the summer time, where humidification is not required.
So far mine has been working properly, despite been a 'refurbished' model. The recommendation is that you don't buy it at full price, as neither the Dyonson name nor its functionality justifies the $599 price tag. Lire l'avis complet...

Don't let it be just another thing that the cat brought in
The Dyson AM10 humidifier is a good product simply because it does exactly what they said it would, with so far, the reliability we have come to expect from any Dyson product. Unlike the other humidifier systems we have had in the past, one major difference is the way we perceive the unit. Humidifiers are not sexy, nor sensual. They often carry a certain stench to them along with some whitish residue around the openings. With Dyson the story is everything but that. They are (Dyson) very strict with maintenance which occupies a central piece of the machine proper workings. By giving this very central and highly visible position in the equipment proper use, Dyson is convinced that users better understand that they, in the end are central to the quality of the product. By putting such emphasis and learning tools in the hands of the users, Dyson has made it an acceptable norm between they and us, the users.
Dyson AM10 is King among small, portable humidifier; the unit delivers all that it should and the rest is up to us. It can be so for the many years to come, or it look like and feel like something the cat brought in...

A quality Dysan Product
There was no sign that this product was not absolutely new. I was very pleased.
Having a colour choice would have made me buy 2 of these.

Quality product.
Good quality product. A bit of a pain to refill, could cause issues down the road. Good for about 9 to 10hrs run time, which is fine for overnight use. Remote control is nice to have.

DYSON AM10 Review
The AM10 works well in an office environment when one does not mind the saturated „cold“ air it pushes out. It would not be our first choice to use it in a living room or bedroom near people which would feel uncomfortable feeling the cool & moist air. We hope DYSON will follow up with a hybrid version dispensing pre-heated air for the winter month and cold moist air during the summer month.
We also find it very very important to use distilled or RO water to extend the life of the atomizer and reduce the cleaning of the unit.Lire l'avis complet...
