Need to Modify to fit "Early Model 028s"

Purchased to have a spare carb. & air filter for an "Early Model 028". Had to modify the "Air Filter" to work on the saw. (Cut the center carb. nut off for the "Early Model 028 Air Filter/Carb. Cover" to work as designed. The "High & Low" mixture screws are longer than the Walbro Stock Carb. Screws. As a result, the carb. can not be removed from the saw after the carb. is adjusted for idle mixture and full throttle mixture. Other than that it works just fine (so-far).Lire l'avis complet...

Did not work for my 028

I had a certified Stihl mechanic try to install the carburetor and replace the old one. He said the new carburetor had an extra port and could never make the saw run with a new carburetor. The only way he could keep it running was to spray ether in the card. Tried all of his tactics but no success.

This was a precise fit. Not exact, but precise. All connections were easily made. Though this didn't fix my problem, I will have to wait to make sure it works. I don't see any reason why it won't.

Must be different carbs on the saw. No way to tell which is right.

The parts do nit fit the carburetor on my Stihl 028AV. :-(.
Each gasket is too big so of no use to me.
