Works for me

This adapter lets me do what it says: In charge mode I can power and charge a compatible tablet with a Micro-B port from a charger while running 3 USB devices from the adapter's built-in hub. In OTG mode it runs powered by the same tablet letting me use the USB devices on the hub.

I can't speak to the details of compatibility with tablets in general, but it works for my HP Stream 7 tablet running Linux.

It's a little quirky: To charge properly I need to set the switch to charge and plug in the charger and a USB device to the adapter before plugging it into the tablet. If I am charging and I restart the tablet, I need to replug the adapter for it to start charging again. It doesn't start to charge without at least one USB device connected to the hub, but this is really not a problem; if all you want to do is charge, you would leave out the adapter. Once charging has started, USB devices can be plugged in and unplugged normally and work normally and charging continues. Whatever charger is connected through the adapter seems to always be treated as 2000mA /10W (even if the tablet would only draw basic USB 500mA from that charger if connected directly) so you need a charger that can really supply the current. But on the other hand this lets me use a 10W charger at full power that the tablet wouldn't fully use otherwise.

For those interested in the internals: In the charge position the switch puts a 68kΩ pull down on the sense pin, which I wasn't expecting, but as the B-devices plugged into the hub end up working normally, I wonder if the hub IC is also doing HNP or similar.Lire l'avis complet...
