Craftsman 5 HP compressor is alive again.
Slacking on the maintenance of my compressor and let the oil level get too low.
Actually it had been a year since I checked it, doesn't get heavy use any longer, and forgot it was to be filled to top of threads and not to the bottom of threads like my other compressor and she seized up on me.
I took emery cloth to the crank, 2 different grits, 3' sections slinging it back and forth, rotating, and got it baby smooth first. Then I installed this new rod, and compressor is now quieter than it had been in years.
I bought it in 92 or so, nearly 25 years of use, only 2nd repair.
Far cheaper than buying a new compressor, bought another compressor head but it wasn't going to work, too light of flywheel, different pattern, etc..Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent replacement for bringing a compressor pump back from the dead
Great fit,nice machining and good clearances to the crank...Piston pin fits nicely{full floating pin}..The rod is aluminum and the crank is steel so most times you can clean the crank journal and install this new rod and you're back in business...This new replacement has hardened metric rod bolts some originals had standard bolts but it's a non-issue with balancing it appears when replacing just one rod in the set... Just be aware of the change for the correct socket when torquing them down...Lire l'avis complet...

Thank goodness for suppling old equipment parts - saved me a bundle.
Thought my 30+ year old craftsman air compressor was done after it locked up with a thrown connecting rod and the part listed as no longer available. Found it here and brought it back to life. High quality
The fit and finish of this piston rod is terrific. No burrs or blemishes and it fits with the correct tolerance on the wrist pin. The casting is very clean and no bubbles or flaws.
