Works great especially with Blackout humbuckers!
If you use active pickups, like me, you'll dig this single coil active pup. I have many Blackouts in my guitars and this is the first time I needed a single coil to match a H-S-H. This single coil has a jumper connection on back to boost its output. You can disconnect the jumper to get regular single coil output or leave it connected for high gain which will match most active humbuckers. I'm using the single coil with two humbucker Blackouts and, in high gain mode, it matches up well with the humbuckers. 5-way switching will yield those in between S tones we are love. With the single coil on by itself, a tiny bit of noise is produced with distortion, but no hum or squeal. I mentioned the noise, but it's hardly noticeable and you'll still get a true single coil tone. As with all Seymour Duncan products, this pickup is a bit costly, but the quality is certainly there.
