It’s a major upgrade, quality product, no problems after 3 1/2 years
Bought a set of these in clear about 3 1/2 years ago to put on my guards red 996TT. As mentioned in the other review, these taillights dramatically update the look of the car. Even though I like the stock taillights, there is no comparison between the 2 when you park two 996TT’s side by side - one with these LEDs and one with stock. These LED taillights are much brighter too, so I think maybe a little safer (and maybe makes it less likely you’ll get rear-ended by an inattentive driver). As a result, several guys in our local PCA have upgraded to these. If you are worried about the Porsche purists, just keep the stock ones stored in the box that these come in, and swap them back to stock in 5 minutes when you decide to sell. after 3 1/2 years, no problems with burned out LEDs or getting water in them (I use the high-pressure wand self-service bays at the local car wash). These LED tail lights are easy to install and give the 996 wide body cars an updated look. I already had a set on my 996 C4S and bought the smoked version for my black on black 996 Turbo Cab.
