GREAT little product, works as advertised, very handy.
This is a great little product to use if you have either a SINGLE desktop or 2 stationary devices hooked up via ethernet, especially to a sattelite connection as we are. From speed tests, and when hooked up with a CAT6 wired connection from the modem and to the computer, it does not seem to be affecting our satellite download/upload speed at all. (on Hughes, tested to about 45 mbps so far).
You can either set the switch to the position where it connects to the device that you're NOT using OR switch to the "nothing attached' position when connected to a single device.
This allows you to stay "connected" and ready to instantly hook on, but meanwhile you're offline, which protects you from EVERYTHING-including potential data overages from even wanted downloads happening when you don't want them to come in.
Iff you're a slow typist like me switching off while typing something time-consuming is great..
One last thing, be sure that the patch cables you get are at least the same CAT as what you already have to ensure no bottleneck if you have a really fast connection-and shielded is always a good idea.Lire l'avis complet...

Simple Switch-box
The picture is a little strange. It shows one of the switches on top of the other. So one is to show the front of the box and the other is to show the back. You receive one of the switch-boxes and it works flawlessly for me. Now I can use one Ethernet cable to my computer for working hours and simply switch it mechanically to use the same cable source for my smart TV . It uses no power and there has been no evidence of the switch adding any electrical noise or interference. I got exactly what i wanted. And it arrived quick and well protected. Amazing
The difference between this and a router is that this doesn't use power and doesn't mess with NAT, avoiding issues on consoles and other stuff. It's a literal switch. I was previously manually connecting and disconnecting ethernet wires, now it's just a simple button press.

Very lightweight A-B switch. A push button switch that requires firm pressure to work.
The switch works. This particular switch you have to push the buttons firmly, but that pushes the front back into the box. Not very sturdy, kinda flimsy.
The price reflects what you get. This is not a knock on the seller.
