Battlefield 3 was meant to just be a multiplayer game.

A beautiful game to play, and easy to have fun online with friends. You will need an online pass in order to play this game, maybe cheaper to buy off of ebay. NOTE, if you want the most out of the graphics you need to have over 1GB to download the HD for the game.

PLEASE NOTE there have been issues with player(s) campagins having corrupt data from a glitch within the system. To fix, a player must delete all there campaign data and clear their systems cache and re-download all data. Multiplayer content will save online, just the single player will have to be played through again if this problem ever happens. On a personal note, the campaign was not impressive and story felt "re-used".

THERE IS NO co-op campaign, but there are a couple of Co-op missions to play on the multiplayer disc. There are two disc for this game on 360. (Personal opinion) I did not enjoy the co-op missions, felt like the missions were put in to keep of with other multiplayer games that have some type of variation co-op gaming.

AS OF JUNE Battlefield 3: Dice has said that new multiplayer dlc"Close Quarters"will be coming. cost 1200 microsoft points. This means newer players will be paying for a new copy of battlefield, and if wanted, buying maps on the start. map packs so far were "Back to Karkand"and coming soon "Close Quarters". A total of 2400 microsoft points.

New gamers online be prepared: The ranking system is not balanced so you will be thrown into the battle. As of June 4th the latest update has given weapons a new play style. Weapons are weaker such as (Stinger, Famas, esc). for a heads up for new gamers, gamers will notice the balance in game. Players that are new may feel overwhelmed, not just by how to play but at the unblanced rank system. Example- You have to teach yourself how to fly in game, this means(once the individual has learned how to fly jets/heli. higher ranks that have unlocked missiles, flares esc. will have a clear advantage over new comers.

EA, Dice, cost, and the online pass: You have to pay for a used copy and buy the online pass Or buy a new copy included with the online pass. This means if the individual wishes to play the game in general or with friends and have not purchased the game before hand, the person(s) will have to buy a new copy or buy a used and the online pass. Also to get the full experience online, you must save room for map packs.

The game overall is okay, if not for the Online pass, recent update, balance, dull campaign esc. I would give this game a 8/10, for now it drops to a 5.2/10.

LAST NOTE: The individual will run into some money in order to stay and enjoy the full experience on 360(paying for xbox live, map packs "Back to Karkand" and "Close Quarters", Online pass if not purchased previously.

Good game. Awesome product!

My personal opinion is as follows:
Personally I mostly play the campaign of each new release than trade it in. With Battlefield 3, a new purchase is not worth the cost. Yes the campaign is good but your team AI is poor. You are assigned three AI team members. You almost always have to follow your AI team leader instead of lead. You cannot command your AI team at all. They always immediately run into battle and kill the opposition, often before you even get there. They also move directly in front of you while you are already shooting an enemy. Often times all the fun is taken by your own AI teammates well before you even get to the location of the fight. This is so frustrating that I actually tried to shoot my own men to get them out of my way or to stop them from running into battle in front of me. This does not work, as friendly fire is not acceptable. So in order to enjoy the campaign, you almost always have to run and gun, rather than flank or outsmart the enemy. If you only like run and gun, then this campaign is for you as this is done real well. Additionally, the advertisements show an open battlefield. This is not the case in the campaign. In the campaign there is very little option to choose a different rout or method. That and the campaign is short, maybe 10 hours at best.
Since I did not play the on-line version, I did not even see a lot of what is shown on the game spot review. That looks good. Maybe I will have to give this game a try on line. I do believe that the on-ling combat is most likely excellent

The best game for online multi-player in the history of mankind.

Battle Field 3 for Xbox 360 is the Best Multi-player game I have ever played. Well worth the purchase price of $44.00 with unused online multi-player code (for a used like new game). In fact it is well worth the $59.95 full price for a new game.

The Single player campaign is not as good as COD Modern Warfare 1, 2, or 3. Also the characters in BF3 spout the "F" word almost every other sentence. So I will have to admit I did not greatly enjoy the single player campaign. While it was a good single player game, for me the best part is the online multi-player features.

In online multi-player you can level up very well but it's not quick, that's good as you get more game time and earned items. You can spawn on any part of the map a team-mate is at, drive tanks, jeeps, helicopters (which i can fly well, but prefer to be a door gunner, or repair the chopper in flight), and fly jets (I generally crash quickly as I have yet to master the flying of jets).

I prefer the Engineer and support rolls as the engineer can repair vehicles and with upgrades has a javelin and stinger rocket. Support can upgrade with claymores, mortars, and passes out ammo. My nephews prefer to be snipers. And there are those that pass out med kits.

In conclusion: BF3 is the best game I have every player online multi-player, and is worth the price for that feature alone. However, if you do not play online? While it is good, I would only rate it 2-3 stars (my 5 star rating was for the multi-player online aspect.

Very Satisfied

I have been a third person gamer since the 80's. I dread not to ever play any first person viewed games. I downloaded Battlefield 3 on my Xbox 360 Gold for free. I was a challenge at first, but now I have gotten used to it.Lire l'avis complet...

A breath of fresh air in a market dominated by Call of Duty...

If you are a fan of Call of Duty, or if you felt letdown by previous Battlefield installments, you owe it to yourself to give Battlefield 3 a shot. It will not disappoint.

(1) You need a pass/code to play online. The game comes with one free when buying new, but be aware of this extra expense if you are buying the game used. If on eBay, ask the seller if the code was used before opting to bid, unless you can justify spending more money once the game arrives.

(2) If you can, buy the Limited Edition with Back to Karkand DLC. The DLC is NOT included on the disc. I repeat: The Limited Edition uses the SAME code for online pass (see above) to download the DLC - so if the online play code has been used, so has the DLC access! If you buy the standard edition or buy used with a code that's already been activated, be prepared to buy online play access and/or DLC out-of-pocket!

(3) The single-player campaign is a little short. But when compared to Modern Warfare 3, I was able to play through them in about the same timeframe - which was roughly 6 hours per game.

(4) The online play is where the action is. It's generally more mature and a more satisfying experience overall when compared to Call of Duty (less "run'n'gun"). Leveling your character and weapons takes some time. You also have access to usable vehicles. There is definitely more of an encouragement and incentive to play tactically as a squad and team.

(5) There are a few glitches here and there (graphical anomalies, falling through the graphics in Co-Op Mission 3) and some interface flaws (can't view Assignments unless you back all the way out to main menu, can't back out of a match until it has started [30 sec countdown between matches], etc) - but these are forgivable when looking at the whole. This is as of 10 Mar 2012, before the "massive" patch that's in the works has been released which may or may not address these concerns.

Great Game for hours and hours of fun first person shooter action.

Great game, absolutly loved the single player. Have spent alot of time on mulyiplayer and love everything except the problem with triing to earn kills with the planes. Imposible with the machine gun when enemy has guided missiles and flares and you have nothing. I can fly good and cant earn a kill before an enemy jet blows me out of air. Need to upgrade planes to start with missiles. Tanks and boats and helicoppters are awsome. Love the way you earn weapons and can apply your upgrades durring spawns. Once you earn the various weapon scope upgrades, they become way more accurate. Take the time to get scopes for all the new weapons you unlock. Biggest difference between the Battlefield series and the Call of duty is the vehicles in multiplayer. They add a major element to the ever evolving gameplay. Fantastic Game. Enjoy!!!! Great Shooter Game and Stress Reliever!

I bought this product as a stress reliever. It works real well! The game keeps you in full gear action. I recieved it a short while ago and already completed the easy mode.

One thing I dislike about it, not a big deal, is some times the auto-sight places your sights in the wrong place. This happens only in one level. The other thing I dislike is that multi-player is done online! Otherwise, you have to play opposite each other.

This is great shooter program!

Greatest FPS I've played

AWESOME GAME. Completely different feel from Call of Duty, and in my opinion, a FAR better game. Many vehicles, weapons, and features make this game feel much more like an actual war battlefield and much more exciting. I own COD4, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops (and borrowed Modern Warfare 3 from a friend to decide whether I should buy it or not, but didn't enjoy it much at all). Had the same friend, who is a huge Call of Duty fan, come and try Battlefield 3 and he was very impressed. Call of Duty is more of an arcade-style faster-paced game (not saying it's bad or anything, I loved Call of Duty)and although I'm usually the fast-paced type of guy, the experience with Battlefield just doesn't compare with any other shooter game. If you still can't decide whether to buy this game or not, try borrowing it or at least look up some YouTube videos of the multiplayer gameplay.Lire l'avis complet...

BF3 is broke on the consoles. So many bugs and problems with Multiplayer!

This review is mainly about the Multiplayer game not the campaign.
The graphics are shameful. The gameplay is lackluster because its hard to see your enemies.
Everything looks like its grey or black. Honestly theres not much color in this game compared to the PC counterpart or previous Battlefield games on the console.
Buildings blow up and crumble to the ground which is good to see but thats been done since 2006.
I own BF3 on the PC and Xbox 360.
Before there wasnt a huge difference but this time EAFrostbite tried to do too much with the console game and its broke all over.
Why does it take a clip of a gun to kill someone?
When in a building and laying down your feet can go through walls and people can shoot your feet instead of going on the other side of the wall to shoot you!
The PC version is getting a lot more attention with bug fixes and patches and I play that now even though my friends are on the 360 I cant play a broken game.
Fell way short of expectations.
And all the videos you see of it are of the PC.
I love when family or friends see the commercial and say yup i got that game...look at the graphics!
LOL the commercials have PC footage in it.
If they really put the console video footage in it peole would be laughing instead of in awe.

Mulitplayer = More time leveling, less fun

MULTIPLAYER:

If you want to spend more time leveling than actually having fun, then this is the game for you. Why in the world does it takes 5-6 hours just to go up 2-3 levels??? It will take over 100 hours to unlock all the weapons and extras for each class. That coming from the company!!!! Who has 100 hours to unlock all the items for 1 class????? I like how in battle field 2 bad company you could use your xbox live points to buy all the weapons for a class right then. But no, in Battlefield 3 you actually have to spend hours, upon hours, to unlock a certain weapon or item. Then other problem with this game is the destruction of the environment. It seems they reduced the amount buildings that can be damaged by 50% percent. It is bad how in Battlefield 3 only about 10 buildings can take damage, and its a big map. I give a 2/5 just for the different kinds of vehicles, and a server browser for multiplayer, but other than that I regret this purchase.Lire l'avis complet...
