Easy is This Camera's Middle Name!
I've finally come into the digital age, at least when it comes to cameras. My first experience with a digital camera was back in 2001 and it was such a bad ordeal that it soured me on digital cameras for seven years.
Having found myself in need of a digital camera, I finally built up my courage to give it a try once more. So I won a bid for a new Kodak 7.1 MP EasyShare and waited for it to arrive. Once the camera was in my possession I knew I was going to be very pleased with my purchase. In addition to the camera, the unit came with a 2 GB SD card, mini tripod, carrying case, lens cleaning kit, batteries and software. The only negative side to all of this were the batteries. They were dead and non-rechargeable. However, after a quick trip to the store I was able to find a charger and batteries for under $20.00.
I'm very pleased with the operation of the camera. It's not an SLR so there's still that hesitation after pressing the shutter before the picture is taken, but the auto focus and SCN modes provide me with sharp pictures. There are a lot of useful features to this camera that I like. It has a 3X optical zoom as well as the digital zoom, but it will also allow me to change my ISO speed, white balance and exposure metering. There's a burst feature for rapid shots, 10 Scene modes, 4 flash modes and 4 picture modes including video.
Reviewing and deleting shots are super easy and while I've yet to use all the features, I'm really looking forward to seeing how the long time exposure feature will perform for my astrophotography. Kodak C743 Easy to use, NOT easy to share!
I bought this camera for my ameteur-photographer husband as an upgrade on his 5 megapixel limited-feature camera. He LOVES the different features on this camera - from snow to indoor to outdoor to close up (and beyond). The camera will tell you (by pressing halfway down on the shoot button) whether the shot needs more lighting, focus, etc by way of green, yellow, or red light. However, the camera also has an AUTO setting for people (me) who just want a perfect shot almost every time.
Top quality sound recording makes the video recording on this camera excellent. Very easy to use the video feature as well!
However, the EASYSHARE software that comes with the camera is very SLOW and confusing. Although you can bypass the software with other generic programs (for example, we use whatever is installed with Windows - the 'get picture Wizard'), I was disappointed with the EASYSHARE software that promised to make printing, saving, and emailing photos, well, EASY.

Camera That Takes Excellent Pictures
This is the 3rd Easy share camera my wife and I own. The pictures are excellent. Having 2 special needs kids who are full of life & laughter, we have plenty of memories from the still pictures. I also take office pictures, sporting events, and pictures of scenes that we encounter in our travels. The videos on the other hand need to be in a well lit area. The other downside is the display screen. The reason we have 3 of these cameras, it that the screen is very delicate. It can get damaged easily and the only time you can see the pictures are when you upload them to your computer. The most reason pictures I took were with my father-in-law, who has a major medical condition and was so encouraged of recent events at home, though him living though his life threatening illness, and seeing history in his life time. I didn't know how the pictures looked until hours later when we got home to upload the pictures. The picture of him, my wife, and my sister-in-law (who travel over 2,000 miles to be home) when President Obama was sworn in was my best pictures ever (even with the screen damaged). The down-side was I couldn't zoom in on the TV, because of the damage to the screen. If Kodak can fix that problem, this would be a perfect camera and will never lose its value. Never the less, we still enjoy using it and we have completely stopped using 35mm cameras because of this camera. It is also great on each of the SD cards we own. Overall, this is a great camera that needs just a few changes. A SMALL RECOMMENDATION; eBay have SD card readers that you can get for less than $1.00, making it when you don’t need to use the cable to upload your shots to your computer. You can just put the SD card into the reader and connect it to a USB port for immediate upload. Perfect if you are on the road and need to get pictures emailed on the run.Lire l'avis complet...
Kodak EasyShare C743 7.0 Megapixel
I have always wanted a digital camera. I decided to buy the Kodak Easy Share because it looked nice and it could work with its own separate printer or my own. It takes better pictures than my mother in laws and hers is a 12 megapixel. (Different brand) It takes awhile to get use to a digital camera. Some pictures may turn out blurry in the beginning until you get use to using it. The only thing wrong with my camera is it will shut it self off and it won't come back on. You can take the batteries out and then put them back in and then usually it will come back on. I made several mistakes in the beginning and lost some precious moments due to this. Easy to Use. Perfect for on-the-go.
The quality of photos is excellent. It's very easy to use taking pictures and getting the pictures onto the computer. I bought this one to replace one I had dropped. The one I got from eBay is a little bit quirky, but still has the same high-quality resolution and ease of use. The quirks are what you have to deal with when buying used or refurbished I suppose. This is my first digital camera and has served me well for 4 years.
I received this camera for Christmas 4 years ago. I had previously been using a disposable film camera- so it was a big step up for me!
I loved the fact that I could take a picture and instantly see how it turned out. If I didn’t like it, I could delete the image with the press of a button. It is a pretty simple camera to use. There are some features I have never even used.
One thing I dislike about this camera is that the menu graphics are a little old school. I haven’t had to many problems out of this camera though. Here lately the review button just started acting up. I doesn’t want to go the review menu sometimes when I press the button.
Overall I am happy with this camera. It has served me well these last few years, but I think I need to upgrade. I’m posting so many items that I have to take a couple hundred photos a month!Lire l'avis complet...
Kodak Digital Camera Review
I love the camera, although posting stated nothing about the camera being refurbished. The battery that was furnished by Kodak in the box did not fit. You literally had to shove it in there and push the top over it forcefully to even get it to go in. The rechargeable batteries that were included fixed that probelm though.
I use the camera on almost a daily basis. It takes great photos and I like that I can choose which photos to keep and which ones to delete. I bought it because I have a small child and I take her pictures all the time. It was more logical to but a digital camera than to keep buying disposable cameras almost every week.
I do not regret my purchase in any way. I would reccommend a digital camera to anyone. They are great!Lire l'avis complet...

The camera is nothing special; just a typical $125.00 digital camera. It came with a USB cord and an instruction manual and nothing else.
The anti-blur feature is not well explained in the manual, and difficult to figure out on ones own. However, once discovered, it is a worthwhile feature to use. The close-up abilities of this camera are good, but make sure the subject is absolutely flooded with light.
The shutter delay is very long and not adjustable - or at least it is not explained how to do so in the manual. If you depress the button halfway and allow the camera to focus and determine all info, and then press the button all of the way when that is complete, there is no delay. However, how often do you have the chance to go through all of this when your child is making a particular face?
The camera is a battery eater, so be sure to have a large number of digital pix batteries on hand or purchase a very good rechargeable system or two to keep you going.
All in all, theoretically, I would spend the money again, as we received a factory reconditioned camera (for all intents and purposes brand new, again) for a reasonable price; however, the next camera we buy will not be a Kodak and it will be much more expensive and contain many more features.Lire l'avis complet...
Good buy (for the money)
The BEST feature is simply the Kodak "EasyShare" technology. User friendly storing, cataloging, and sharing software included.
The camera is light and easily carried in pocket or purse.
7 Megapixels is more than enough for amateur photography. It provides hi-def pictures up to 8" by 10". Higher resolution simply eats up too much memory.

Easy to use menu setup. Each type of photo setting is explained on the view screen. Large view screen that is viewable both indoors and outdoors.
Should use tripod whenever possible, as has no stabilization software. It does show with an icon whether picture is blurred.
Bought for wife at Christmas with G600 photo printer. Worked great and quests loved being able to take home high quality finished photos.Lire l'avis complet...
