N-gage game deck review
I purchased this item because of my hobby: playing around with electronic stuff. The N-Gage was a poorly planned project from Nokia meant to compete in both the handheld gaming market and the cell phone market. What resulted was a machine that did not do either one of these particularly well.
phone: bulky size and odd shape, clumsy interface.
gaming system: games and screen not comparable to competitors products.
I bought the device because it did have some unique functions and there are a few games that actually are somewhat ok. Another aspect of this piece of hardware that appealed to me was it's ability to be hacked and use homebrew software. Phone with surprises
I must of didn't do enough of homework and yet made excellent choice.
I was plesently surprised to find that it has FM Transmitter. That mean no extra wires/clatter to deal with when you want to listen your MP3 collection or Internet radion on your car stereo.
Also, I thought that Assisted GPS ment that you needed Internet for it to function properly and yet it works pretty good when it gets going. sometimes it gets confused or something.
And having dedicated play buttons for MP3 player I found very useful.
5 MP camera can produce good shots, just remember it won't replace dedicated camera. However, as opportunity camera or travel-light camera can prove it very usefulLire l'avis complet...
Game deck first, phone later
I bought Nokia N-Gage for my son. He likes phone very much. I tried to use it for few days and it's kinda cool. It has mp3 player, bluetooth and the usb port!!!! The loudspeaker is very efficient and the radio and MP3 player can be listened to while you play a game or serch the internet via the the Ngage's online browser.
What I didn't like: No camera feature. Bluetooth is great but the phone has no infrared port. Need to remove the back cover to put a new game in (way too complicated).Lire l'avis complet...
Great Deal
This phone has an amazing amount of features for such a low price. The wi-fi is very convenient and the slide out keyboard makes texting very easy. The tv works fine but there are very few analog stations in my area. The camera works great outdoors but the quality for indoor pictures suffers a bit. Being able to add a micro sd card (I put in an 8gb) is a big plus for added storage such as music and pictures. Touchscreen also works very well. Nokia N-Gage Cell Phone Game Phone
This is the first edition of the N-gage by Nokia and I own the 2nd Edition, the QD as well. These phones are awesome! While the N-gage has a MP3 player and built in radio, it also plays games, lets you watch movies, access the Web, has bluetooth and is sturdy, reliable and fun! These phones werent marketed properly by NOkia and are not well known as a result of that. They were way ahead of their time. With lots of memory and the ability to use a memory stick, I have over 10 full length feature films, hundreds of PS and Nintendo games as well as ring tones and more stored on my phone. The battery seems to last forever and everywhere I go, everyone also asks What kind of phone is that!?

Good for the Price
I bought this phone for my son (14). The phone works well as far as reception is concerned. It routinely gets the same number of bars as my HTC8925 (Tilt), He was able to get MMS, and after youtubing it, he set up the SMS, and was able to go online with WIFI and the data card. Unfortunately the phone isn't compatible with Adobe Flash Mobile so he can't watch ANY videos online.
The phone is poorly constructed. The tilting function of the keyboard, literally broke within the first 10 days of having the phone. He is able however, to slide the phone up and down to reveal the qwerty keyboard.
Overall, the phone looks and feels great. we are happy with what we have for what I paid and considering the price of the Nokia N97, I think I got a fairly good deal.
I would definitely buy anotherLire l'avis complet...
Nokia N-Gage Game Deck
I actually bid on this in a hurry. I logged on the sight and went to unlocked GSM cell phone and it was nearing the end of the bid. I really didn't look at the details about the scrathes on knocks on the phone and I bidded and won. When I received the phone I really wanted to return it and ask for my money back but I feel that what I got for not noticing the phone from the get go. When I received it, it was no use to me and it had a lot of wear and tear on it. It looked as if it was outside in the weather and kind of ran over. But I do fault myself with this rash bid. In the future I will make better judgement on what I buy.

N85, what were they thinking?
When i first saw the n85 it appeared to be an n-series with the same integrety as for example the n95 but was deeply wrong. The o.s. Is still great as the n96 but the build is substandard as if not much thought was put in it. I still like the device after making some minor corrections to the key mat just below the screen which was attached with insufficient glue thus making it slide off or peel off. Once applying more glue to the neccessary areas it is back to normal. The phone is a good buy due to its capabilities, anyone who has owned an n-series before should know. I bought this phone because has Great video shoot, Big screen. Many application. And with the WiFi, i can have access to the internet almost everywhere.
I love N-Gage!
I bought the N-Gage QD the first day it came out, and I loved it every single day until yesterday when I accidently went swimming with it in my pocket. Now I'm here on Ebay trying to buy a new one because even after having it for so long, I'm still in love with it.
The N-Gage can do so many things. The 101mhz processor is powerful enough to support playback of full length movies without desyncing. It plays games as well as MP3, Ogg, Wav, AAC, 3gp, Divx, Xvid, real media and many other formats with some third party installs and codecs.
I would recomend the original over the QD though. The QD is optimized strictly for gaming, so if that's all you want then get it. But the original has stereo sound and USB so it's much more suited for use as a portable media device. It's more like the games are the little side feature.
All in all I love this phone. The only down side is it cannot receive picture messages. :-/Lire l'avis complet...
