Great value. Questionable fit. (revised review)
It appears that I'm either confused or have the wrong part. The connector in my 2018 RAM 1500 SLT doesn't fit the switch. Looking at the photos I have circled the spare connector in a dummy holder in the first one with 2 additional close up shots. The last photo shows the switch I received. The connector has 12 conductor slots while the switch has only 10 pins. Can anyone that has installed this enlighten me? I don't see any other connectors in the area. thanks. I'll update my review once I know how to proceed. Update: Turns out, I was confused. Nothing unusual there - lol. The installation of this product is not for the weak of will. After much research and trial and error I got this installed and it's working flawlessly. Buyer be prepared for a learning experience. ;-)

Challenging to install
Nice new Mopar parts. The instructions failed to call out 2 hidden screws because my Ram had a console. It is virtually impossible to install the 3 screws in the bracket. I drilled out the threads and used 3/16” pop rivets, it went easy after that. They charged me $80.00 to program the PCM so it is not a cheap way to get a brake control.

Great product, not the easiest install.
Great product. Integrates perfectly with my '16 1500. Surprised the truck did not come with it from the get go. Bracket screws were difficult but eventually got them in with a wrench,lots of patience, and a some bloody knuckles. Used Alfaobd to program vehicle instead of dealership.

2017 RAM 1500 LoneStar brake module
Took about 2 hours total to install, taking my time in 100* weather. Then another $150 (taxes, fees, etc) to have a local dealer activate it (flash "XHC" code into computer). They have come so far with vehicular technology! In the dash(speedo area) you now get a new menu for Trailer Brake, where you can watch the amount of pressure applied (when hitched to a trailer with brakes), and adjust the gain. In the Uconnect/Radio, you get another menu under Settings, where you can setup and select up to 4 different trailers/brake configs (options: light/heaving electric\light/heavy electric over hydraulic), and it saves the last gain setting for each. I told the wife now I need 3 more trailers :-) Operation is flawless. When gain is set properly, you will not feel the extra load on your vehicle when braking. Easy to back off in wet weather to keep trailer from skidding. Anytime you touch the gain or manual brake level, the brake menu comes up in the dash for a few seconds then goes back to the previous display. Well worth the money and hassle of install and having a dealer activate (all of about 20 minutes). CON: as shown in many youtubes, you just cannot get that 3rd back screw installed for the module bracket up under the dash-impossible to reach with more than standard tools. Get the other 2 tight, and stick the foam you remove from the module connectors between the bracket and dash frame to keep from vibrating.

Works and fits like a glove!
Installed this brake controller into a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic with little trouble. The hardest part was getting the bracket screwed in to hold the controller as everything else is prewired. One tip I would give is that you can program the controller to the truck yourself after install by using AlfaOBD.

Genuine Mopar for a lot less
Got the product I ordered, installed it and everything works and looks super professional. The trailer brake control is well integrated into the trucks systems. Great product!

2019 Ram 1500 Classic
Worked perfect for my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. Dealer said not compatible, but after flashing (you have to take it to a dealer to get it flashed to the computer), all setting show up on dash and factory look. Saved $300!!!! Installed myself. Everything is easy to install except bracket, that is truly a pain to get those screws tightened in but with a little patience you save a ton of money!!!

Nice brake kit
Very pleased with this trailer brake kit. Installation is easy enough, except for the module bracket. The screws holding the bracket would be much easier if the screws went in from the steering column side, which would be an easy enough fix for Mopar. Everything is plug n play as far as wiring. Well written instructions included in the package.

Worth it
This product was $150 cheaper then I could find at any dealer.I have less money in purchasing this and having my computer flashed then I would have just in parts at a dealer.
