Old kit but still great
This model has been around since the early 80’s and it’s still a great kit! Parts are molded with little or no flash and fit together well for the most part. The only real issue being the two halves of the bridge and smoke stack. You’ll have to shave off the guide pins to get a proper alignment and some “modeling” to hide the seams. This latest revision of this model, 78030, incorporates some new, but minor, changes from the 78014 kit. The biggest having to do with the main turrets. With this version, you can now cement the main deck to the hull, paint it and set a wooden deck down without having to fuss with the main guns and the two main deck halves like in the older versions of this kit. You have to set the turrets and wooden deck in place before cementing the main deck to the hull in older versions. This is a much wanted and desirable change. The main mast and gun barrels have also been revised and other parts along with it. If you expect this kit to be up to date with the latest info on this ship then you’d be mistaken. it still retains the look from what info was available in the 80’s. This is easily fixed with a good PE kit... or just get the 78025 kit which is up to date and is a new tool... which is probably why they didn’t fully revise this old kit. However, in my opinion, only a true Yamato fan would know the difference so don’t let this minor detail discourage you from getting this kit. GREAT 1/350 scale of the IJN Yamaot

Another excellent Tamiya kit
I have not built this model yet and I am not an expert on the IJN Mogami, but it is a very impressive and interesting model. Tamiya is a very reliable model kit maker. The Mogami is part of Tamiya's trilogy of light cruiser Mikuma, heavy cruiser Mogami, and carrier/cruiser Mogami. Use of Broken Large Models

It builds into an impressive display.
