Not as easy to install as another brand ...
Not as easy to install as another brand I have. Adjustment knobs not easy to turn. Does work fine. Give it a 4 rating.

easy to install and easy to open the gate. I love that it opens both ways if you want it to, or you can use the stops as well

Perfect to keep our Doxy off stairs
Fits perfect across the landing of the stairs and keeps our Doxy from getting into trouble. I used the extensions for the wider space. Spin adjusters on all 4 corners really secure it well. 15 min assembly, instructions were clear. Door latch is easy and smooth. Not sure what others were complaining about. Great for small dogs

excellent baby gate - highly recommend
Gate is made of strong steel material and the latch mechanism is very robust. Easy to install. This is a great design on the part of the Safety 1st company. We own 2 of them and are considering a third one. A note: when we bought a refurbished model, the latch button was getting stuck and too hard to press. I just opened the latch mechanism (4 simple screws) and put some basic lubrication grease (any $1-$5 grease works) on the plastic buttons and levers inside. Took 10 minutes and now works smooth like butter. Highly recommend the gate. Read the included instructions.

It's ok, but not great
This gate does the job it needs to do, but seems a little light weight. If you're trying to hold back larger dogs, you might want to reconsider. Also, the latch to open the door is VERY hard to use. So, if you have diminished hand strength, look somewhere else.

Bad design, do not recommend.
These gates (I ordered two of them) are barely usable. The are REALLY hard to open. The latch is a trigger under the gate that requires about 8-10lbs of pressure to engage, and a lock on top that has to be released in order to use the latch. Also, the aren't spring loaded, so they don't close automatically. And when you close them manually, you have to SLAM them, because you are overcoming that 8-10lbs latch spring. Bad design, do not recommend.

sturdy and does the job
Perfect gate to keep small children & pets from entering off limit areas. It is convenient and safe to walk through, rather than step over. The lock is a bit stiff and tricky, and may be difficult for someone with carpal tunnel or arthritis. The top button must slide over simultaneously as you push in the underside button to unlock/open the gate. I'm pleased with my purchase as it was well priced, sturdy material, shipped fast and provides a safe boundary for my grandchildren.

Excellent product. Solid design and secure attachment to the door frame. Comes with an extension for wider doors. Easy install, smooth and simple opening latch. Excellent communication with seller. Highly recommended.
