Loose locking mechanism
I have read reviews from people who sprayed their own faces as a test and it worked wonderfully. Good for them, now I don't have to do it. So, other than that I have no idea how well the thing works and I hope I never have to really find out. I am, however taking away two stars for something I do know. You see, the one thing I can actually comment on is the looseness of the firing lever that is normally kept swiveled to the left side where it can't fire. Then when you want to push the lever you swing it to the right and push down. This is designed to sit in your pocket or purse so it seems to me that there should be firm measures taken to have it not go off accidentally. Unfortunately this seems like a possibility with this model. When the lever is in the left hand "safety" position it is held in place with a little plastic knob that does little to hold it in place. I was very concerned when just the act of putting it in my pocket rotated the lever. Then I read about a solution. Carefully cut a small piece of electrical or some kind of thick, sticky, tape. Then you rotate the lever to the firing position, exposing that little knob. Put the tape over the knob. Then when the lever is in the safe position it will have a bit more friction to keep it there but it won't stop the lever from being moved by your thumb when you need to fire the canister. I tried this and it seems to be working so I'm not going to return it like I thought I might. ***Edit*** The tape keeps falling off so the firing lever keeps on rotating. I'm going to keep it as I have found a safe way to carry it and I don't have a lot of fear that it'll shoot off in my pocket.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Ask about the EXPRIRATION DATE before you purchase!
Bought this in April 2016 on EBAY...Expiration Date under clip to my disappointment is set to EXPIRE 06/2016!!! Only good for 2 months than who knows if this pepper spray will be effective. No security there. Now I need to purchase an new one and will be especially mindful to ask for the EXPIRATION DATE. Look to be of good quality, but you never know until you need to use it. Hopefully, that will never happen, but better safe than sorry! I give them a 4 star on general appearance and leave the fifth star should I need to use it and will decide on the performance at that time. Peace of mind but the clips a bit on the loose side!
Bought one for me and the wife. It's nice to have a back up plan. This gives peace of mind since we can carry it easily. However, I would not use the plastic clips as the entire thing tends to fall out of your pocket.Achat vérifié : OuiÉtat : Neuf

Good product reasonable price

Strong and ready for use
