For recording high-quality crystal clear audio for the movies you shoot from your HDSLR camera or small camcorder, use the VideoMic GO On-Camera Shotgun Microphone from Rode. It draws power from the 3.5 mm jack of the camera is connected to, which means you do not have to use additional batteries to power this microphone. However, it will not work with those cameras that do not supply power from their microphone jacks. The Rycote Lyre shock mount of this Rode microphone enables protection from bumps and vibrations.
