    Adapting a Quad Lock Damper to a Ram Mount

    I bought this because of the Apple story about MC vibes wrecking phone cameras. But I have a Ram mount. Ram doesn't have a vibration dammer at this time so I needed either to buy an entire new mount, or adapt something else. Modifying the Quad Lock dampener looked doable and it is. I had to take it apart to replace the bolts with new ones sized to fit the Ram mount. Getting it apart was difficult. And I scratched it up as you can see from the pictures. The replacement bolts added up to only a few dollars. And getting the damper back together wasn't bad. So it is a fairly inexpensive fix that requires a little creativity and a little strain. But I would still recommend it if you have any mechanical skills.

    Exactly what’s needed

    After ruining the camera on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, I decided to try a different mount (RAM quick mount leg) once I fixed or upgraded my phone. Ended up replacing the camera on the phone and so far after 2 months camera is fine, I should also mention I ride my motorcycle every day at least 100 miles. I wouldn’t use this quick mount on a motorcycle without the vibration dampener, highly recommend for this application.

    Disappointed

    I’m a Qaudlock user had them on several different bikes . Never used the dampener tell now this dampener is loose and sloppy I don’t care for it.

    Has not a big difference without it

    The cellphone has the same vibration with or without the damper, i do not recomend the damper.
