  • What a great Camera Lumix DMC-GH4 by Panasonic is a excellent camera.

I really love this camera, the GH4 is very easy to use and the 4K is unbelievable, it's the best value for film maker's. Also the slow motion is phenomenal, I can't believe how great the footage looked. I personally own 6 of the best affordable cameras in and the market, BMCC & BMPCC, Canon 5D & 7D , AG-80PJ Panasonic and the Go-pro black. Now I have 4K I will be using my GH4 more than any other camera I own, the quality is unbelievable for the price. Thank's Panasonic you have made a excellent camera for film maker's. Now I need to purchase two GH4's for my production company. Can't wait to see GH5 !!!! Thank you. Tony Moore

  • It's great! But not for beginners.

This is truly a professionals camera, and for $330, it's a great deal. After a lot of troubleshooting you can pull some professional images, but as a starter camera there is a lot that needs to be tweaked to provide a solid image for a given lighting scenario. I'd recommend getting this with an automatic lens, I bought some manual lenses, and the constant process of adjusting the focus is a bit more of a pain than I expected. It's a great camera, image is top tier and sharpness in 4k exceeded my Samsung S10e. Most importantly it runs continuous video without interruption for basically unlimited time, as long as there is memory available, and that is the biggest step up from my phone, since longer videos get chopped unevenly by the phone, with a jarring audio fault. Throwing a lav mic on this thing completed my setup and I'm very happy now that I've gotten the lighting right.

  • The Lumix DMC-GH4 is a powerful, agile workhorse, with unlimited potential for your creativity.

This is my second DMC-GH4, so I now have two for multicamera video capture and editing. I like this "hybrid" camera very much for both video and still photography; it's an amazing piece of technology, to put it mildly! Having two identical cameras makes it much easier to match the content (color, saturation, contrast, and more) from both cameras. If you do a search in YouTube for "Michael Kevin Jones & Graham Vink - Rachmaninoff Sonata for Cello and Piano. Andante" you'll find my recently posted multicamera video using both GH4s. Although it was a good price, the only problem I had was that the power cable for the battery charger had a non-standard 2 prong plug (Australian?) for North America. Hard to locate the cable separately, so I simply cut the original plug off, and attached the correct 2 prong plug for NA.

  • Budget Investment // Pro Vision

As a visual enthusiast and amateur creator, I decided that 2020 would be the year that I would upgrade from my tried and true Canon EOS Rebel T3i. Having the little knowledge of cameras I did prior to my upgrade posed as a disadvantage when it came to making a decision on what I would upgrade to, so I thrust myself into a 2 week crash course on which components you should focus on when looking for a "quality" camera. On paper, the Panasonic GH line caught my eye and stuck with me the most consistently throughout my decision process. A professional content creator by the name of Nigel Barros, an avid GH3 user, helped convince me that choosing from the Panasonic GH line would be in my best interest for my particular needs. I went with the GH4 because the distance between it and the GH5 price wise was a little steep for my budget, and the GH3 didn't quite excite me enough with its specifications. So far, the GH4 has marvelously served my needs in a variety of creative settings, including a couple short films, a handful of music videos, and some simple indoor/outdoor photo shoots. The camera is very user friendly, having one of the best menu layouts I've ever used, has a great selection of codecs, has focus peaking and zebra highlight warnings, is very light and compact yet sturdy and durable with its weather sealed magnesium alloy body which is a definite plus compared to its competitors often having "cheaper" feelings plastics. I haven't found many cons with this camera besides the obvious limitations of the MFT system, the lack of IBIS, and poor AF, but these negatives were easily remedied with a speed booster and a basic understanding of proper composition, a tripod and a simple cage rig. I'm never in a situation where I would use the AF system, so that is irrelevant to my requirements. For AF, I would heavily recommend a Canon, as they are one of if not the best for that particular function. I'm not quite sure why the GH4 gets such a bad rap in low light either, because that's where I thought I would have definitely seen a noticeable negative in its sensor performance, but for me personally, it handles any situation and setting I throw at it with relative ease. It's crazy how much quality you can get these days on a budget. Conclusion: If you're an amateur filmmaker looking to upgrade from an older DSLR model and leap into the mirrorless world, I highly recommend this Panasonic camera, as it is a definite bang for buck option, especially when you snag one at a really solid price (Like me!). However, if you're a solo content creator // streamer // vlogger for Youtube // Twitch with no intention of investing in some external equipment, (E.g. lenses and adapters, audio recorder, lighting, studying filmmaking techniques, etc.) I would probably look elsewhere.

  • Professional videos at a great price!

I have seen many reviews in YouTube for Panasonic GH4. Many short movies have been done all over the world. It's filmic videos can be classified as professional grade. While GH5 is already out and boast to be a better camera than GH4, the GH5 cost more than twice. I have been using the GH4 for roughly two weeks now, and it instantly became my camera of choice when shooting. I like the filmic look. I like the high bitrate recording. I like the 96 fps slow motion recording. I like the built-in video tools like the focus peaking and zebra pattern. I like the long battery life. And with that price in eBay, the GH4 will be the greatest in price vs. performance. The Tascam DR-701D field recorder is a perfect complement to Panasonic GH4. While I get good audio recording with the GH4, in a professional shoot, you would want full control of audio recording especially when you are recording with multiple people and using wireless microphones. I own several Tascam products like their DR-100 2-channel audio recorder and their 24-track mixer/recorder. The Tascam DR-701D fits right in between my two other Tascams with 4-channel recording. It sits underneath the Panasonic GH4 in a tripod. With or without an assistant, I am confident that I have a complete control and monitoring of audio while recording video as well. When it comes to quality, Tascam has been consistent in giving high quality and performance across their product line.

  • Great prosumer camera

Amazing quality footage from this camera. Easily best bang for buck camera in the prosumer market. Definitely buy this if you have a lot of experience making videos or taking photos. I wouldn't recommend this to a beginner level artist, simply because this has many overwhelming features and a pretty complex interface, which may be difficult for a newcomer to use.

  • Great 4K camera in 2021!

I bought this camera for my son who is following in my footsteps working in video production. Recently he landed a job assisting another individual I used to work with shooting interviews. The other videographer has a Sony A7III. The interviews were shot in 4K. My son had to match his capability of 3840x2160, although the GH4 is capable of true 4K. He did the job and the other individual said the video from the GH4 was incredible and easily color matched the footage in the edit. My son was jazzed. He has more gigs lined up with this individual and he is learning quickly. The camera has tons of features that he'll learn with time. This is a great camera, even today.

  • The GH4 remains an excellent choice in DSLR style cameras for video

The GH5 has been out for a while now, but the GH4 still packs a punch with great image quality and internal 4k ability. The affordable price for a good condition used GH4 makes it an excellent buy.

  • 4K video and 16mp monster!

4K video with no overheating and no clip duration limit. Stills look good at 24" x36." Weather sealed. Fast controls. Fast easy menus. Touchscreen. Fully articulated display monitor. Lightweight. Batteries last forever. Low light is awesome with a Metabones Speedbooster. Use manual or autofocus lenses from pretty much any manufacturer. Even ENG broadcast camera lenses with SERVO ZOOMS. It's amazing.

  • Beyond Expectation.

The camera came in good condition, almost like brand new. The image quality is excellent, which makes this camera quite relevant in 2019 despite being a few years old. This product for the price well exceeds expectation, so anyone looking to purchase a first camera I recommend this product.
