It Works!
I think it makes tuning a breeze. I’m sure I would have taken hours of more time figuring out the right sound by ear. Instead, I used the target frequencies from the TuneBot website, and pow, in an hour, a perfect triad chord on my toms appeared (and I’ve always found toms disagreeable to play, growing up). Great tool! There's a bit of a learning curve but once you get it, it will help you get amazing tones from your drums! I play every week in church and the sounds guys and I were just not feeling like the tone coming from my drums were optimal. I bought this and spent a few hours tuning each Tom and the snare to the keys DW recommends and my kit sounds amazing now! Needs outdoor lighting capability
I haven't tested all the features because my main interest was the NOTES reading. It seems to work pretty okay in that respect. My only draw back is that it seems like you must always be indoors to work with it because the LCD panel is not outdoor friendly. Compact and quite useful. Crazy readings occasionally.
Great tool, compact, nice features. I frequently did get bad readings. One moment it would say I had 250Hz. Then it would say the lug tension was producing 160Hz. Happened frequently. The comprehensive tables on the website were fabulous.

I was on the fence if this would be a tool that will help and tuning and acoustic drum set or nothing more than a hassle and wind up being a tool a great tool.
