    Amazing VR and versatility

    I had a Sigma APO 70-300 which was amazing, every time I used it. After roughly 17 years in my bag and or closet ( I live in Florida) I noticed that it had considerable fungus/haze visible on the rear inside element. I am a true Nikon lover and bought the Sigma because at the time I purchased it, Nikons only offering in this range was rated optically inferior. Since then, Nikon updated its 70-300 three times, I think, but the price has increased substantially with each offering. The latest version is around $800. Since this focal length range is not one I use often, I started pricing new sigma APO's which are still an amazing bargain. Then I thought to look on Ebay for a used nikkor and found an excellent deal on this modern VR lens. Retailing for $500, I obtained a used, excellent copy for just over $220 and could not be happier. this lens has VRII and makes an amazing difference when shooting hand held, as I almost never use a tripod. The Sigmas have no VR. Both lenses are great, but the VR is awesome!

    This lens is great. The focus is quick. For how long the lens is it's pretty light weight. It's great for photographing surfers.

    Nikon AF-s70-300mm Lens - Great Tool in the Toolbox

    Good range, good focusing excellent image quality.

    Image quality is very good. Focusing speed is very high and accurate. It is almost entirely quiet during focusing. I took some Bird In Flight images with it and it works very well.

    Nice zoom lens.

    Picked this item up cause the price was right, needed for shooting a fashion show I had coming up and it was rushed delivered to me quickly so I could relax and focus on my event. It’s a great lens and works perfectly with my Nikon D750. Very happy overall with this buy!

    This lens is sharp and fast given the price range

    Nikon has many 70-300mm range zooms. Go with this lens for FX and film. This lens weighs less than the 80-400mm VR. For DX I would go with a cheaper and lighter lens. This lens is sharp and fast given the price range.

    Nikon 70-300 lens

    This lens looks to be a good lens for beginners in photography. While the lens is plastic, a big complaint by more seasoned photographers, I feel if you drop it it's not really going to matter what it's made of. In the short time I've used it I've found it takes amazing pictures. I can't wait to get out and about to use it more. I'm very happy with the lens and I got it at a great price.

    Great lens and versatile range!

    been wanting this lens for a while and although, not the fastest lens, it's perfect for daylight outside. Even if the light drops a bit, the VR helps keep the motion intact!
