    Nitecore NTK07 - Well Made but Price Heavy

    I just got the Nitecore NTK07 for leather working and other hobbies. I was so impressed that I plan to buy a second and put a different blade type on it as I am pretty sure a #10 blade would also fit. The NTK07 comes with one #11 scalpel blade pre-installed. I have a couple other titanium scalpel handles so I have some experience to base comparisons on. Size-wise the NTK07 is between a #3 handle and a #7. No handles seem to be made for long fingered, large handed people, so don't expect to much in that regard. However, as scalpel handles go it is reasonably comfortable. The NTK07 is precision machined and it shows. The cap is the big selling point of the Nitecore NTK07. It locks in place either lightly by pushing it on to the first notch or fully with the second notch. The cap is easily removed with the thumb in either case. My only complaint with the Nitecore NTK07 is the excessive price. I was able to obtain titanium scalpel handles for around twenty dollars US. Is the cap worth another seventy? Maybe ? A small bit of cardboard and tape has made my other scalpels safe enough in my tool kit, but not my pocket. Do you need a scalpel in your pocket? The NTK07 has a removable pocket clip, and with the cap it is completely safe to be EDC carried. I think if Nitecore reduced the price by 20% they would have a way more justifiable bit of kit. Despite the the large price tag I feel good about buying my first one. I'm not quite sure I will feel as good about buying a second one, but I eventually will.

    A little overpriced but decent quality.

    A little overpriced for what you get. But far better quality then cheaper options. Fit and finish is ok expected a little better and for the price some extra blades would have been nice. I do not regret purchase but do not think I would buy again.
