    MTH dcs remote commander is amazing

    Even though The product is the cheapest DCS system that MTH offers it does have some amazing features, it gives you great control over you locomotive and works a lot of the features on the locomotive! The cheap price makes it great for someone that is trying to get into MTH control systems!

    Ok for a small engine with few cars. Will not run a dual motor engine properly.

    power output is weak. Not recommended for real train enthusiast. Get the Z-750 or Z-1000 if you are looking for good performance.

    Works great

    At first, it wouldn't work with my engine. I have proto sound 2 from 2007. I had some trouble trying to find someone with a tui system to set my engine back to factory default settings. Once I found someone though, they did it for free. It only took seconds, not even a minute to do. Now it works great. My setup works like an even more realistic train. It actually slows down and stops like a real locomotive does. The commander is no where near as expensive as the other systems. Plus, if I get another engine with proto sound 2 or higher, all I have to do is buy another commander and I can control both trains with one remote. I would just put one commander on one side of the setup, and the other commander on the other opposite side of the setup. I have another engine with without proto sound. Unfortunately you can't use the commander with an engine without protosound. My engine without proto sound I am thinking of selling and getting one with proto sound.

    Work great on my PS3s but will not work ...

    Work great on my PS3s but will not work on my PS2s.. even after a system reset etc.. I still like it as I’ll be adding in PS3s in the future. Cool simple controller.

    It might work, it might not.

    So I hooked this unit all up and......nothing happened! The directions say to do a "factory reset" on the engine (1horn button and 5 bell) with a conventional contoller. That doesn't work! I then was told the reset had to be done by someone with the full dcs system. Off to the train shop I went. Supposedly he reset my BL-2 to "engine1" on his system. Well guess what...remote still does nothing. So I am back to my trusty old Z controller and the engine comes to life every time I turn the dial. What a waste of time and money. Piss poor design in my opinion.

    It’s ok but with limited functionality. Reasonable price.

    It worked fine at first. But something happened and the address of the locomotive changed. To change the address back I have to reset it to the factory defaults which you can not do with this remote.

    Cheap control

    You need to buy a transformer to go with it then it controls all basic functions good for a child.
